I got my '04 for my birthday in '05. I just can't see parting with this bike.

If I had known how much better the Öhlins are, I wouldn't have waited four years to buy them. The stock shocks are fine, but holy shit the Öhlins are beyond belief when setup properly.

I've had two of them. Great machines, easy to work on. Great handling and safe. I commuted on them 150mi/day, year around when I lived in Cal. I'm 5'7 and had no issues doing over 800 mile days touring on them. And two up is not noticeable.

Pity you don't live closer. I'm selling my '01 for $3,500 (advrider price).

selling a r1100s for that price is a sin. You should get 50 lashes with a wet noodle.

My BCR is just so pretty sitting next to a high Sierra Lake. And it is a wonderful beast to ride in the Sierras, or eat up the miles quickly running across the deserts of Mexico, Nevada, or California. A really fun bike!

Oh, Man, this is dangerous. I so don't need to get involved in this.

I'm another "I have a VFR that I love, but really, really want an R1100S" person. SFarson knows how much I drooled over his. i remember riding my VFR through twisties with ST.n and VFRd riders, and found myself just staring at Steve's S as we rode.

OK, bringit on, where can I get an S for $3500?

The S Has a New Dress

I added the black nose, & tank fairing along with painting the black "Y" stripe on the cowling and pin striping. I paid about $120 in all.

Thanks.

I've had the R1100S for 4 years, and there is not another bike out there that I would replace her with.

I have had a few 'S's and I am just in the process of re working this one after it had a little coming together with a Kangaroo ...

Bottom line is they are great bikes - a real world sports tourer, you wont be disappointed.

I had a '99 VFR800, rode my buddies' 1100S and instantly knew I liked the Honda far better The S wasn't any faster, had less fuel range, didn't sound as good and vibrated like a paint shaker in comparison....
