The PO told me that the OEM flasher should be on the bike and I only have to unplug the aftermarket one...ha..aargh.
I have searched the BMW parts fiche and also looked through the BMW shop manual to find the location of the flasher relay...nothing I have found matches what I see on my bike.
Here is a photo of my panel by the steering head...can anybody identify the flasher unit?
What is the minder supposed to do?

Does your bike have ABS? Maybe its a relay for that. My one flasher relay took up the whole space.

It is an aftermarket device made by Kisantech that automatically cancels your signal lights after a certain amount of flashes, it also makes your signals flash as you apply the brakes.
Mine seems to be sensitive to moisture, even driving in fog causes it to malfunction, the signal lights will come on by themselves and I cannot make it stop, very dangerous in my opinion.
The worst most useless farkle I have ever seen...going back to OEM is proving to be harder than I thought.

Mine is non-ABS.
I may be getting close to an answer on f650.com (chain gang)
My bike does have the 4 way flasher option, this could change what you see in the relay tray.
Anyone out there have the emergency flasher option? If so, your signal flasher may be different than a stock bike.
Talking to the local BMW parts desk they only list one type of flasher relay but now I suspect there is a different one for bikes with the OEM emergency flasher option.

Its the black one.. mine gone south last week. Remove the black relay and jump the connection with a piece of wire. signal works but will not flash. In Singapore we call it a condenser and my mechanic friend told me any two prong relay will work. does not have to be oem. i bought a jap bike relay for $5 and it works. Took some time do connect it back. wires are PITA short.
hope this help...

i went with aftermarket turn signals on my dakar and they wouldnt blink so i bought the cheap 2 dollar 2 prong flasher from pepboys and it works great. been using the cheepies on all my bikes and they work great.

I'll give it a try even if I ditched mine 7 or so years ago..

03 RELAY FOR FLASHER 1 61317650999 $38.81 +core

Did you check the service manual ? http://home.otc-mc.org/~197/mc/F650GS_EU.pdf Just open it and go to page 287 (chapter 61.7) and there's a diagram with everything you need. It's a .pdf so it's not possible to link directly to it (at least I don't know how to)

That's probably just the sophisticated fog detection and early warning system
