Footpegs

Doesn't seam to be much around for the XR. I know the standard ones are way to small for my liking so I am playing around with an alternative. I know there are the IMS ones and also the Pivots available, but not keen on paying up for the pivots and would not buy the IMS because I want something bigger. The fella I bought my bike off had some extensions put on the existing pegs but they suck and look like shit, so we did a bit of playing around and made a template to play with and see what works.

Here is my existing footpegs. You can see the standard peg and the existing extension.

Template made from a bit of scrap 1.6mm gal

Took it home to check it out. Size looks alright after I trimmed it a little with a lot more surface area to stand on.

Will take the pegs to work and cut the old extensions off. Will either do them in 2mm stainless or maybe some 3mm mild steel. Any thoughts, good or bad. Might need to look at the mounts as there will be more of a canter lever effect with the pegs being a bit wider.

Hey Ditchy, nah mate, bought it from a mate that has softened as he has aged and sold off his XR. Its a seat concepts. Seano and I did about 600klm's the other day and it was pretty good and I had a crook back.

G'day BW, just experimenting mate. Will see how they go.

I recognise that giant swag Will, that would be Digga's bike.
