Antiquated by today's standard, but it worked for me in the mid-90s.

Still have the above bike also, the Limongi.....got it from this guy...Philippe Saude....who raced this bike during his amateur career...wheels on this bike originated with Greg LeMond and were passed down to him after Mr. LeMond was done with them, and he was kind enough to put them on this bike when he sold it to me. 1984 was a good year to buy a bike in France....$411 USD for it.....wxchange rates were good back then...

Well, I'll be the first. My bike is 2 times the bike I need and 5 times the bike I deserve. Probably spent 3 times what I needed to for my ability. OTOH, I had some water pipe "issues" that required me to empty my garage for the plumbers and it's sitting in my bedroom across from me right now. (I'm watching Sebring) Like my Triumph and my Ducati, I get enjoyment from simply LOOKING at it, it's that nice. And fwiw, I have the same stand, too. Only the bench model. I whacked off the bench mount flange and welded on a post so my HF tire changer can multi-task.

My Trek 1500 is too nice. Got a good deal on it, so I won't complain- but my Jake is really all I need for anything resembling a road. |

I've got a bad, bad case of MBS when it comes to bicycles, so I'll limit myself to my two favorites.
Here's my Bianchi Volpe during my commute to work (well, the long scenic route) a few years back: ![]() I regularly get tempted by a lighter and more focused road bike, but for the actual road riding I do, the Volpe is fine, and probably a better choice. And here's me in Moab last spring on my Maverick ML7:

I've posted this before but why not again..
![]() It isn't mine anymore, but I used to own it back in '87-'91. It's now happily being ridden all over Ettenhiem, Germany by the fellow I sold it to in 1991. Figuartively known as the Lightspeed they were a "frame kit" sold by a local frame builder years back. It used to have a Sachs Pentasport 5 speed coaster/hubgear/brake, one of the original versions of this hub I harrassed Fictel Sachs into importing to the US, back then. The present owner has a Shimano 3 speed coaster on it now. I'm sort of underwhelmed by it's latest incarnation. It was a fun bike during it's time, but really hard to learn the ridng technique. Funny thing was the PO was always coming over to bug me about selling it, he was into Swing Bikes and Penny Farthings also.![]() Here's the designer Tom, at a recumbent rally years ago in Beaverton on his full Reynolds 531 framed version.. ![]() my 1951 Rudge 21" English 3 speed.. ![]() And a "sand bike" single speed that I put together from an old Nishiki Citisport cruiser. ![]() And because this is a Motorcycle Forum, my Velo Solex... ![]()
