Sure...I'll try to post some over there tomorrow. I wish I had some pics of me riding in the dunes though.......I mean the part after I stopped crashing my brains out...

Unfortunately I didin't get any pics of the new Berg. It looked pretty much stock to me with the exception of roadbook and a plastic tank strapped to the back fender. Not sure if that was his extra fuel or the required 2L of water you had to carry.

Well...I can tell you that the Aus Safari is on Dan's list... I actually worked in Karratha W.A. for a few months back in the 90's...I just about melted.

Just in case anybody is interested in some photos or a dutch IPTV report.

Video report (in dutch, 3 parts, approx. 15 minutes each):
http://www.topspeedtv.nl/ and then look for "2009 - Touareg Rally Deel 1" (part 1) to "... Deel 3" (part 3)

Some good photos can be found here:
http://www.tuaregrallye.pl/
and here

Enjoy!

One of the guys I met on the Tuareg rode the Heroes Legends Rally and spoke very highly of it.

Sorry I've been out of the loop for a bit. This thread gets a sticky.

Dan, Ron,
if you like to hear the "wakeup call" again:
It's Rammsteins "Sonne":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXqEMuXGK08

The video is somehow strange and surreal, but the lyrics say in its chorus "here comes the sun - it's the brightest star of all".
Pretty adequate on sunrise in the desert ...

Thanks Bernd!

I'll have to load a copy on my iPOD... It can go on there beside the only other German song I have..."Here Comes Alex" (I only like German songs that have "here comes..." in the chorus....

I'll forever think of waking up in the tent in Missour thinking..WTF every time I hear this.

Hi Ron, greetings from Berlin!

Great report, brought a smile to my face. Was great to meet you two, always good to have a few Canadians mixing it up with the europeans... For any of you considering a trip like this, DO IT! The Tuareg is a fantastic get-together, top organization, great people, fantastic riding... This was my second and I'm an addict..

Hopefully we'll meet up again, perhaps Tuareg 2010??? Slowly getting all the dust off my 520 (and there's a LOT of it! ) and getting it ready for the fall enduro season.

Hi to Dan, if you guys make it this way the beer's always cold.

Roland.
