Pay it forward- Free Stuff

Rightio then.

I'd like to float something. Generally speaking we are a lucky bunch of boofheads. I'm willing to bet most of us have stuff that we don't really need. Ideally I hope this grows and becomes a sticky.

Here's the rules.

1) There are no rules.

My only caveat is that I'd like to see no money change hands. Ever. No paying for postage or whinging or whatever. Just because you can. There is no obligation, no recrimination. Just because someone may need it more than you.

So to start. I have some riding gear, yes well used but still got heaps of life left. Free to someone who needs it. A Thor Jersy, pants and gloves. Jersey XL, Pants 36 (but big) and gloves largish. Yes some holes and rash but good for someone who needs some riding gear. Just PM me your address and I'll post em to you.

It would be marvelous if this grew to something special. Feel free to tack on anything you like to this thread.

Thanks. FBC

I like it!

But I'd like to be able to pay for the postage of said "stuff". Why should the giver be lumbered with the cost of helping someone else? Postage only would make me feel happier about being a giver or taker (no homosexual jokes thanks! Not that there's anything wrong with that...)

My 2c worth... but its your idea at the end of the day.

There are no rules. But I'd really like to see NO money change hands. That's the idea of pay it forward. If money changes hands it brings expectation. I'm looking for as close to virtuous as we can. Nothing serious. Just because we can. PM me if your serious.

very timely, I was only thinking the same thing a day or so ago.

I've got a bit of gear, especially helmets and gloves that I'd be happy to pass on.

A very good idea, as Rosscoe said it's probably something a few of us have thought of at some time.

I myself have some warts and herpes I'd be more than happy to pass on.........can't seem to get rid of the buggers.

I do have some stuff I'll check through and post up here.

I agree though, let the reciever pay the postage if they can't pick it up.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO - what a ride!"

I am obviously a bit thick by pay it forward, do you mean COD??

This is a good idea, but I agree with paying the postage, as COD.

I have had a couple of things sent to me from fellow Ulysses members, and free of charge. If I can return the favour, I will.
There are still some decent people out there.

You can use something like Photobucket to host pics of your stuff mate. Register with them and it creates your own album etc, then download the pics you want onto it and then you can use the Forum posting to place them on here. Its very simple, I can use it!!

Or you can pay (the people who supply this site for free) to use smugmug, kinda like paying it back really

Well, I've already donated to Baldy via paypal.......

As for what's on offer, I can't see why almost anything can't be proffered up but seeing the usual suspects that inhabit this forum motorcycling bits would probably be the most popular????

The Thor apparel has gone to a good home, the first bloke to PM me with a address got it.

Come on you blokes... post up your freebies!!

Anyone want this?? Might be a big ask.. From another life where I owned road bikes...
