It was changed to 8:00.
I remember a time when I use to get home at this time, not get up.

Back

Howdy gang,
Back from Pioneer Town. The bike and I are both a little more battered than when we left but the battering was well worth it. A huge turnout necessitated splitting into smaller groups. The split was kind of like herding cats - I'm not sure all went with who they thought they would.

I ended up in the Riceless950 contingent. We got to test the mighty 950/990's on beautiful rocky (not Rocky) mountain roads up to 8000'. Couldn't have seen much more variety on a cross country journey - low desert, high desert, and snow and pine covered mountains. Since it was a Riceless950 approved route, there were plenty of technical trails. It's possible I'll appear a couple more times on the .... Victims page . It's hard to leap to your feet and hoist a 950SE before someone snaps a photo.

We made it to Pioneer Town for lunch and left before the other groups got there. Just before we left, one rider from another group made it down with news of a bad crash involving a trip to the hospital for the rider. Here's hoping he's not too banged up.

I brought my SPOT tracker but until someone started talking about one, I forgot to turn mine on. But here's the google earth image with my tracking starting above Big Bear Lake

Quite the adventure today

Go tracks or trail numbers? Razr, another couple riders and I are doing this ride tomorrow. The track that Matt sent me looks like all fireroad, Holcomb Valley, etc. I know some sexy ways to get to Crab Flats and Holcomb Valley from either Cleghorn or Silverwood Dam but don't know anything from the north side which it looks like you took.

Any help?

Has anyone herd from or saw DannyG on the ride after we got there, I was with the first group and didnt see him all day.

Came home to find the truck of the other rider gone but his (DannyG) still parked in the driveway.

Trying to get an update

Call me if you know anything please.

I'm home.

Thx for the ride everyone. A lot of new faces for me. Dave(?) the guy w/ the GS was an inspirtion- a quality rider.

Hope you all had a good ride after lunch. I'm sorry to seem like a stick-in-the-mud, but i feel i really have to be on my "A" game to keep up w/ the fast guys, and i don't think i was today. Half way down the hill to Apple Valley i was done.

Sorry to hear of the person who wrecked. Hope it's not too bad.

See you all next time.

Marty

if anyone is up for another ride tomorrow, come out and join us ! ! !

meeting at the McD's/Chevron at 7AM

there is a small posibility we might take some detours and maybe not even try to get to Pioneer Town and just do a loop through the Big Bear area.
we'll see and play it by ear. group decision.

hope the group today had a blast and the downed rider heals quickly.

see the church riders in the AM !

Hey Rich. Man we had a good ride! Rider914 started us out on some fun singletrack. I can't really explain where it was. I can tell you though we did a fun little trail that looped north from Little Pine Flat back down to 3n16. We also did JOHN BULL Trail! WAY COOL. Everybody had a blast. The once we got into Burns Canyon We did a couple of Black Diamond loops that come back to the road. My GPS was non-operational so no file.
