Roadholder,

Thanks, Iceland is a place with lots to see and we would suggest anyone with an interest go and visit. Solitude and great riding abound!

Your reports are great!
All I can say is Iceland should pay for your trip with all of this good press.
Kim, you kicked some ass in those water crossings.

Just returned from this summers' camping adventure - '08 12GSA solo trip to Iceland.

+1 for F208 (of the 13 real vadings I found the first one to be most challenging mostly due to the size of the rocks in the riverbed)

+1 for F862, the waterfalls are great!

PS the F985 to the top of the Vatnajökul glacier is steep, but doable. Reccomended for a 32 km detour - and you get the altitude and the views

+1 for great RR

First water crossing on F208

Did someone say the first crossing on F208 had big boulders and deep fast moving water?

I could agree with that!

For some better maps of the world, try www.smellybiker.com. The whole world is $50 and is fully GARMIN compatible. I just used them in Nicaragua and they worked wonderful.

I dowloaded the map that would include Greenland, but it's not covered as it's too far north.

Thanks

Timmer,

Thanks! We're glad you enjoyed the show. It was fun to be on. Also, thanks for the link. We'll check it out. We could have used a lot more GPS coverage in Iceland!

Thanks again!
