i slab it 60+ miles a day on the commute. so i'd burn through those pricey TKCs in a hurry.

people are ordering from moto amore direct at this point.
my guess is once the 150-17" & 19" are hear on of the smaller specialty suppliers will pick them up AND be slammed with orders.

the shipment is coming soon, so if you want em, i'd pre-order with moto amore to get yours.

the only problem i see right now is that they're about the same price as the TKCs. I already know that I like the TKCs. The Heidenaus are, as of now, an untested commodity.

the hope/idea is the rear has much more life-span than tck-80 rear while offering most of the tck-80 traction.
it has been reported as such

it's far from untested. it's been available around the world for a bit, with very positive reviews.
you need to get out of the hood more often.

Thumb Got 'em

My Heidenau K60s were delivered last week, and I got the rear 140/80-17 on (after much struggle--I had never mounted my own tires before) last Friday. Today I mounted the front 90/90-21 (much easier). I've only put a few miles on them. But so far I'm very pleased. They're a little bit more vibey than the Battlewings, but not nearly as vibey as TKC-80s. I'm going to scuff them up a little before I thrash the bike through some twisties. But they seem to have plenty of grip on pavement, and what little gravel I've done with them on also felt very planted.

These are the tires I hope will get me all the way down the Continental Divide Trail (and to and from the trailheads), which I'm leaving for next Saturday. So you can count a more thorough review after I return.

I do think they look great on the bike, though.

sure are alot of little traction/biting edges on that rear tire.
ofcourse those disappear with wear so it's be interesting to hear mileage reports as well as off-road grip reports when worn past 50%.

the front tire doesn't seem to use those. i'm not as impressed with looks of the front, but looks can be deceiving.
please give us some feedback on how that performs/corners in the dirt.
i do notice the chevrons are reversed up front (w/ a little traction hook at the end).
this mirrors what others have found with front mefo explorers > reverse the tire for better traction.


i still plan on using this a my front tire for my strom, as this is a nice middle between tck-80 & the new shinko 705 (the current next step after tck-80). rear is still debatable as i have 2 smaller hard-core dirt machines.
guess if the k60 rear can produce mileage similar to original tourance rear or anakee 2 then why not go for the extra traction in the rear. if mileage is not near as good it's either 1 of those 2 or maybe the price leading shinko 705 rear (i change my own tires). i do believe others in the world report good mileage, but what does that actaully mean?

i think for you serious 50/50 dual-sporters a tkc-80 front & k60 rear is a great beast combo.
