I know, weird right? I always thought Chilhowee Mountain went from Hwy 129 up past Townsend right? The overlook is called "Gazebo Overlook" and is on Oswald Dome Road, near the entrance to the campground that's up top. The mountain the FR77 climbs is known as Chilhowee Mountain, and the recreation area is named that too.

Lots of Chilhowees around here to get confused with.

East Tennessee Tag-O-Rama!

Good grab!

I came across some vids last year showing "Chilhowee Mountain" but it wasn't my Chilhowee mtn and thought where in the world is this at. Then found that was the mountain range in Benton and around Ocoee. It's the North Ga rider's Chilhowee lol. Until my ride, I thought the Gazebo was only accessible by gravel but I was wrong.

I been up and down that road multiple times and had no idea that gazebo was ever there. I usually come up on pavement from US 64 and stop at Chilhowee Recreational Area, that place has some great hiking trails. Benton falls is great spot (it also happened to be a spot where I took a girl on the date, she is now my wife)

Once I just went past recreational area and made it to Tenn 30 on gravel roads.

Good tag, I found it on my map now I just need some time to ride. I thought it would be grabbed by now. It's another road I've not ventured on yet. I love the good tags like that. :)

Not exactly where the tag is but what's the best road or route to take over Starr Mtn. to explore a little?

Catch the north end off Hwy 39, about 6 miles west of Tellico Plains (I think it's FR297), but be watching closely for the Starr Mountian sign, it's on a curvy, narrow, tree-covered part of Hwy 39 and it's easy to miss. Just keep riding south and it will dump you off back down near Hwy 315 toward Reliance.

Thanks, I think I've seen that sign off of 39. I've seen some signs on 315 but wasn't sure how they connected up. Just never have gone exploring there. Some interesting Starr Mtn history.

I know where it is, I had too much to do last weekend, and for me bikes and storms don't mix well, I've had monsoons 6 out of the last 7 days.

I have the coordinates in my GPS on the bike...just want to give the weekend warriors a decent chance at it.

This was a fun tag to get. I even got to shoot a AK 47 for the first time

New tag. Do yourself a favor and spend enough time at this one to get a big burger yum.

Sorry wjfawb0 to move the tag further away. I spent the early morning riding Starr mtn on the way to the tag. I was hoping to find something tag worthy there but didn't. Beautiful scenery but I was looking for something historic.
