the NC tag is "bloody" close , and this one is not to bad either, just depends how early I want to get on the road.

I was just kidding you...I see you went out and got the NC Tag already.

Forecast for saturday morning here is rain/snow flurries. That and roads covered with wet leaves.

The NC Tag was only 60miles round trip, so it wasn't bad at all. This one is almost double the distance and it's snowing here... but not sticking (for now).

Maybe tomorrow....

New Tag

Hope this is not a dup. This aint above Lower Paint. Begin on a road named for a group of seafaring and feared Norsmen who's leader was famous for his red hair and horned helmet. Just inside the Tenn line on a 2 digit road totaling 7. After you head up the valley, there is a neat B&B and restaurant which is open Thur-Sunday if you need nice grub. The name of this road which turns to easy gravel also changes to a name that describes a mountain top with few trees.

Tag Shot: (out at the north end of the appx 1/4mile section of pavement)

Near my tag which is barely inside Tenn is this shot which is about 20 feet inside NC:

If you go on up the road from the above pic, you will remain in NC but in about a quarter mile of rougher road, you will reach the main set of towers:

Now, just behind the fence surrounding this tower is the most incredible view but be careful on the rock ledge. Go around the upper end of the fenced in area, follow a little path through the laurel about 30 feet then up onto the rock ledge, directly behind the tower in this photo, for this view:

Have fun!
