Exploring Camp Wood, Arizona

Another beautiful day in Arizona. Me and my SO got the bikes loaded up and headed out into the unexplored (at least by us) Camp Wood. It was a little dusty but overall a nice day. We got unloaded and tried a nice double-track. It started out pretty mellow but quickly turned super rocky and climing fast. My SO is new to riding but she did awesome. Before we got in over our heads we turned around and rode the wider trails.

Taking a break in the shade.

Playing in the water.

Our riding partners.

Me and Mrs. Sixer

Looks like you had fun. There is a LOT of riding up in that area of the state, anything from the two-track you found to some very hardcore singletrack.

The AMRA has had several enduro's up there; this year the permit was denied for unknown and unspecified reasons.

Thanks for the ride report. That's some of my old stompin' grounds up there. I grew up in Prescott and used to spend time up that way. Fun stuff.

I'm super lucky to have her. She pretty much likes everything I like, only downside is I end up buying two of everything, but it's worth it.

I didn't even know of the area til the other day. Theres a metric ton of trails up there. Thats a bummer about the permit. Something happen in previous years to piss off the Forest Department?

Nice! I need to spend some time out there. My wife went to college in Az (ASU) and would move back in a heartbeat.

Actually the Prescott National Forest reconsidered their initial position and granted us a use permit........CAMP WOOD, rather the Neil Slater Memorial Qualifier is back on!!! April 19th!!!

Looks like you guys had a great ride, like Tim said earlier there is a multitude of riding to be done up there.

She still needs a chest protector and jersey. She is in love with her bike. No kitchen passes needed in my house.
