Question DgIV Rally Planning

OK folks since we split the rally from byobII we are back to just the dg group and should start planning for next year .the first question do we want to have our smokey mountain run base camped out of hot springs . That would be my vote because I have connections there and they have a great facility and amenities .also I can easily plan a repeat of this year with some nice additions .

moved by fascist moderator at work. ( hey Mod Almighty, you catching how this works ) we can leave it here until it's get's just a little closer to ride time

and it's no longer an advrider annual event. it's just the DG IV. and Rick, as good as you are as the party boss we don't need no stinking orginization for the DG IV.

where are we staying? on which night? and show up.

ride, drink, sleep, repeat

Bluhduh I Want DG IV TO BE AN ANNUAL EVENT

I find it curious that someone who didn't stay for the organized part of the rally decides that it can't be an annual rally . damn freak not everybody rides500 mi just to get up and ride back home .some of us enjoyed a little more organization and commraderie.I thought it was nice to have an event which wasn't just a manic ride down and back . those of us who don't buy red bull by the case sometimes like to smell the roses.

It's been happening for 3 years, attended by primarily Advriders...doesn't that make it an Annual Event by definition?

I percieve far too much drama as of late at my "adult and boring" motorcycle web site... by far my favorite motorcycle web site I might add. Regardless, I'm in until the drama spills over from the site to the rides.

I am anal. I need lots of organization, planning, and lead time. I also need a cabin. Lots of contact info etc. is appreciated.

Barry is IN for DGIV !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barry

ps - smells like an annual event to me too...

just trying to be fair to the DVD, Loaded, Cromag, green mountain hoe down gatherings, etc. the Advrider Annual thread was started for the TWO big annual rallies: the BYOB and the Sierra/Ouray. ya know the the big east and west ones. please see http://www.advrider.com/forums/announcement.php?f=24

DG was merged this year with a big one.

hey man, if you want to grab the ball and run with it, knock yourself out.

all I'm saying is that the original idea of the DG run was to just go ride, OK.. please don't read anything else into it.

the history:
DG I started with just a few people going for a ride

DG II had 23 people

DG III was merged with the BYOB II. I don't have a final count. 70+ ???

EASILY 70+... over the course of the weekend (if you include the bus load of librarians) ! But it really IS an annual event... it's happened every year, right! I think Hot Springs was a great local... with 209 in your back yard, how can you go wrong? It was nice that we weren't staying in squid central, too. Let's go for a similar event at a similar time of year... and then let BYOB be the real Eastern annual shindig and a seperate entity that moves around. I vote for WV for next years' BYOB, Hot Springs as the base for DGIV
