Tag-O-Rama Ride and Barbeque, May 2nd

Hello all!

I've been an inmate here for about six months. Been having a ball playing tag mostly. I wanted to do something to give back a little and to have some fun getting to know you all face to face. I also happen to Co-Own 8 cabins on a wooded 4.5 acre property in the heart of the Nantahala Gorge near Bryson City, NC. Suddenly, an idea came to me so here goes!

I would like to extend an invitation to all you SouthEastern tag-o-rama players (NC, N.GA, SC etc. doesn't matter, you're all invited) to join me at my cabins for a barbeque Saturday May 2nd at 7pm. I'll have a large grill going with plenty of picnic tables for eating on and a camp fire for gathering around to share stories. Bring something to grill and I'll have all the fixin's and trimin's.

For those wanting to make a weekend of it, I can extend a 20% discount for any of the cabins. I also have a tent site that can accommodate 4 large tents which folks can use for $10 a person (pays to clean the bathhouse).

We will be taking advantage of the location of the cabins and doing some local rides on Saturday. Perhaps some of you local riders can step up and lead some rides. We'll meet at the cabin office at 10 am to leave for the rides with the plan to return in time for the cookout.

Please contact me via email through the cabin web site to RSVP so I can plan on how many people to expect. You can call me using the toll free number on the site if you have any questions or to reserve a cabin or a tent space. I really look forward to meeting you all! Joe
http://www.cabinsatnantahala.com

Time to RSVP if you're coming to the ride and the Barbeque.

Send me a PM with the following info:

1. Are going to ride Saturday? If so, what kind of riding are you looking for.

2. If you're planning on staying at the cabins, do you need a cabin and when are you planning on arriving? I need to reserve it for you. If you want to pitch a tent, I have limited space for tents (4 tents total) and two of you have already mentioned tents.

3. Are you eating? How many peeps and any special dietary concerns?

Please get this info to me ASAP so I can better plan the weekend. Thanks, Joe

Sounds like a blast!

Joe, sounds great! As one of the long distance co owners of the cabins and GS road trip junky I will do my best to be there. Whether I can make it or not we need to provide a little more than fixin's. Let's throw together the basic burger, brawts and beans for the first 20 or so. If I can make it I might share a few malt beverages as well (not sponsored by the Cabins at Nantahala).

In case some of you have not visited the area let me tell you this is motorcycle paradise! In addition to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Tail of the Dragon/Deals Gap, the Cherohola Skyway, there are to many beautiful local roads, fire roads and trails to mention. If you want to take a day off riding you can enjoy a little white water, visit the casino in local Cherokee, or visit one of the other many local attractions. This is a great place for weekend getaway.

Hope to see a big turnout.

WOW! Very generous of you Joe! Can I get some more details and I would definitely like to get one of those cabins, if I could. I'm sure that I can get a few people to join me from VB, about an 8 hour ride.

awesome offer. If I can get back on the bike by then, I might check it out. I will actually be in Cherokee, the week before trout fishing.

Cabins

I already received some requests for the cabins so I thought I would put some details here.

We have several options to choose from:

1 Bedroom cabin - Has a single bedroom with a Full size bed, also has a sleeping loft with 2 twin beds (loft is great for kids or spry people as it requires you to climb a ladder and there is only enough room to crawl into bed.) Has a futon in the living room that converts to a Full size bed.

Also has a small kitchen with full size gas range and full size refrigerator. Has a full bathroom with a tub shower. Also has a small TV with basic satellite. Normal Rate $129 per night - $103.20 plus tax with discount.
I have two of these cabins.

Studio Cabin - Same as the 1 bedroom except without the bedroom. There are 2 Futons in the living room that convert to Full size beds.
Normal Rate $109 per night - $87.20 plus tax with discount.
I have one of these

Bunk Cabins - These are one room cabins with two bunk beds. The top bunk is a twin size mattress and the bottom is a Full size. Also has a small fridge and microwave. No TV or Bath. There is a very nice centrally located bathhouse with plenty of hot water for showers. This is like camping without having to pitch a tent or sleep on the ground. Bring a sleeping bag, pillow and towels. Normal Rate $59 per night - $47.20 plus tax with discount
This is the most bang for your buck. Almost cheaper than camping!

3 bedroom House - 3 bedrooms with enough beds to sleep 8 people comfortably. Has a full bath with a tub shower and a half bath. Fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. Also has washer and dryer.
Normal Rate $ 195 per night - $156 plus tax with discount

I also have camping space that I can folks use for $10 per person with access to the bathhouse.

Call me toll free if there are any questions. I'm really excited by the great response and can't wait to meet all of you! Joe

No worries! Great Cell reception at the cabins. I get 3 out of 4 bars with Verizon and I know AT&T gets same or better for you iPhone users.

I think I am going to make it.

What sort of riding did you have in mind? Should I put the knobbies on?

I'm open to any type of riding. I'm new to dual sporting so am not too familiar with off road rides in the area of the cabins. I was hoping one of our old hats would step up and show us (me) some places to get my new 'ol KLR muddy. I'll have my knobbies on. Plenty of great twisties and some nice gravel roads as a back up plan. Might break up into different groups depending on how adventurous folks want to get. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks for the bump RidgeRunner. I'm getting psyched!
