Hollow Allen Wrench?

My kayak has some loose bolts that I need to crank down but I do not have the proper tool... The bolt heads are an allen type w/ a pin that sits in the center of the hole. What is this called and where xan I find suitible wrenches?

Thanks~

Are you sure it's an allen and not a torx? Snap-On has the torx with the hole... I don't know that I've seen that in an allen though.

I just went a triple checked and yes, it is an allen hole. I'll shoot an email to the manufacturer.

The Torx screws with that pin in the middle are called Secure Torx.

You should be able to get the tool at McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com)

Jon, you ROCK! The proper name is 'tamper resistant hex-key'.

That's a "tamper proof" fastner.

As Jdiaz suggested McMaster is a good source. Speaking of McMaster it's a kick ass source for hardware *period*. You name it, they're likely to have it. Not the best website to navigate, but once you figure it out it's pretty easy. Very reliable online ordering, cheap shipping and I generally receive my stuff the very next day.

later,

You can find it at Fry's, if you have one close

I was at Fry's last week, and they had a tool set that contained a wide range of those "secure" tools.

If you don't know what Fry's is, well, you are missing something fun. It's a HUGE electronics store. Everything for the geek.
