Yo Doc and Larry! When Cooper and I were leaving town to ride yesterday we got behind a guy on a Honda XR650 at a stoplight. I noticed the seat and thought it was Steve so I laid on the horn while on his arse....then I noticed it didnt have an aftermarket exhaust so it wasnt Steve! I thought that big mofo is gonna thump me, but I think it was Larry on his way home from your ride yesterday.

I took a scoot ride down to Ft. Smith after work to buy my son supper last night, and took 71, then 282 thru Rudy. Nice ride and almost no traffic both ways.

Just south of the shots below (from 282 where it first crosses I540) there is a low water bridge. A couple mommas wearing only what looked like panties and light t-shirts were swimming with their little kids. The water looked cold . Everyone waved and smiled, and I drooled and waved, slowing WAY down....untill I saw daddy-bubba1 and daddy-bubba2 sitting on the tailgates of their pickups drinking cold beer. 650cc scoot and I took off.

Looking northwest:

I've driven past here for 30 years without a picture.....

I didn't get to finish Scotty's Arlansas 500 a couple weeks ago due to a bent shifter I recieved at Mills Creek so I am itching to ride. I am coming up tonight as I have in-laws in Springdale and I can't decide if I should bring the Versys or the DRZ. Anyone up for a ride Saturday or Sunday? Dirt, street, or both, just let me know by 5pm so I know what bike to bring.

You guys got any recommendations for a good swimming hole near the area. I used to go to the one down by the sod farm, but that's no good any more. I guess the folks out there made too much of a mess.

I'd really like to find some thing that i can take the kids out to, too. You know, not too deep, not too fast, shade, beach, clear water, etc.

Dravintoad, go highway 16 to Elkins, go through Elkins, then almost every dirt road to the left ends up on the white river.
some holes are better than others, some nice rock ledges, and a little water fall pool soak area at the bend in the river.

a rope swing north of there just North of Springston Ford

a few have been fenced off in the last several years, but still plenty of access from what I have seen.

The KTM money pit continues. Coopers bike had no hit as I took out the clutch spring washers and installed real springs for the Enduro he raced in march. I just ordered new spring washers, flat washers and a reuseable cover gasket so I have another $125 in that turd.

You can rearrange the washers and that makes the clutch hit sooner, later, harder or softer. I've got some diagrams on what works well. Hopefully next thursday I'll have it lined out.

You can stack the washer like this ()()()()()()()// Something like this would hit softer..something like the next would hit harder.

Or like this (())(())(())(((/ etc....its freaking confusing. And you have to mic each stack out as you want them the same. ugggggg.....

Cool. I know I have driven through there a hundred times, just never pulled off one of those roads to get to the river. I have swam in the west fork of the river though.

My neighbor's kid has the same bike, but doesn't have all the problems you do. He's outta town this weekend, we could just switch them out.

Does he have to use the KTM to win?

Be nice if a different bike would work as well for him... & you as his mechanic. You are making him do most of this..... right?

Bawahahahaha
