There is a knack to it. Once that's learnt it's just a matter of grunting and sweating. Notice how he's holding the crank handle so if it backfires he doesn't get a broken thumb.
The crank handle sure made checking valves and timing easier.....all stuff we don't have to do any more.

I've read about that method Nate
but have yet to try it

I've used cut up plastic bottles and zip ties for piston ring compressors though
zip ties are handy!

I'm gonna try it this weekend and maybe shoot some photos. I've wasted a lot of time and money on pinched tubes.

Well my Kansas City yard crashers are off, they took off around 10am. I watched them get geared up in the rain while I stayed nice and dry drinking a nice warm cup of coffee. I think today is one day working may be more fun than riding. I hope the rain is letting up on them some but they were riding south/east right along with the rain.

You sure have been a home for wayward travelers lately.

Was worried about riding with all you high tech dudes and showing up with some old school gear...until I saw the ride report with Gus. Impressive Gus!

Just what the heck do you all put in all those bags hanging off the bikes?

I think between winter road gear, ski gear, and summer dirt gear I have a plan for Sunday to keep warm. Just got to figure if I want to spring for a new pair of goggles or just the usual sunglasses. With all the rain shouldn't be to dusty and I hate muddy goggles.

I put cold beer in mine. All these other guys think it's more important to haul fuel, safety gear and lube but I say they're crayzay.

Like the way you think, I may follow you, especially if they are carrying that much lube....

My grandpa used to run a garage in the old white concrete building still standing across from their old house on our farm (dad sold house and 5 acres). Neighbors who's ancestors originally owned all our land own the old garage now.

My grandpa never owned an automatic vehicle, didn't think he would know how to operate it.

2008 Ninja 250R with 25 miles for $1200. It would make a nice race bike or whatever.
