That's because AR HS football sucks. All the money is up here in the NW and all the talent is in central and south AR. You can thank white flight for that. It's also the reason the UofA has a roster that's 50% out of staters, most of which come from TX.

Sure, AR HS football is not as good as your "home" state, Tex.

My point is that Russellville, Farmington, Texarkana, Springdale, Siloam, Benton, you name it, ALL out-draw Fayetteville every week. I spent 8 years following band kids all over, and I saw it time and time again. That's the sad part for the local kids.

I guess the Tex comment keeps me off your cooler gift list?

All I know is back when I was playing football in ARKANSAS. half the fields we played on were dirt and gravel cause our poor ass school districts down south couldn't afford fucking grass. So pardon me while I don't cry with you cause snobby ass FHS has shit for fans.

Waaa, Waaaaaa, In my little school, we never had over a 20 man team. We walked 1..7 miles to a public park top practice.

The teachers would hold out players for behavior & grades.

Went to many a game with 10 man rosters.
No cheerleaders except at a few home games.

80% of our wins were in the mud.

We could not win for nothing on a good field.

We had to practice in the dirtiest section of the park which was mostly a giant mud hole.

Waaa waaaa. In '85 FHS field was mostly dirt and rock too. Worst in 7A until about 10 years ago. Your point?

My point? Many SEC college towns live and breathe only for their more-often-than-not "crappy" football, start the season with big talk, then stop going to the college games once they lose a couple. Then these SEC locals ignore their own kids' school. Starkville, Auburn, Oxford, Gainesville, all have the same deal. It's not snobby-ness (Bentonville and Benton take it there, and always fill their stands), its the whiny SEC football fans. If they don't win the National Championship it's cry cry cry.
It's why I can't don't care AT ALL about Hog football. At games (or in bars) you are surrounded by whiners.

Hey Gus, at my HS I played (both ways) on a cinder field, and played in snow so deep you could hardly run. We had the same hill-both-ways too. I never whined a bit (< that part's untrue).
