Pete and I cut a sweet route out of Fayetteville to Talimena. 80% dirt, 20% state back roads. No need to trailer to Oklahomo.

You can get from the K-trail to Mena pretty easily on almost all dirt. Countless Jeep/4x4 trails fanning out in all directions. Lots of fat dirt/FS roads to explore over there, great look outs etc. If you are feeling more adventurous, there are miles of nasty single track as well. Clayton Lake State Park is a great place to camp with a trailer, but with street legal bikes, I prefer to camp on top of Kiamichi Mountain Ridge. Pete and I hit all the above on our knobbie tire street bikes. Round trip out of Fayetteville with all our camping gear strapped on the bikes was easy. Plenty of places for fuel until you get pretty deep. Be sure to fuel up in Clayton before you get on the K-trail. Used to be a gas stop just off the K-Trail, but last time I was there it was closed. Luckily we had a few MSR fuel cans or we would have been walking.

Happy Adventuring bitches!
I'd like to know more about this route. Sounds nice. But then again, I never seem to ride anymore so who am I kidding?

you could print it out, hang it on the wall in the garage, and sit on your bike and make "vroom vrooom!" noises

I'm not a bit surprised.

The traffic north in Rogers/Bentonville is like a Nascar race, high speed bumper to bumper.

I used to commute from Lowell to Walmart HQ, on a Vulcan 750 and took the back roads, instead of I540. That road was a racetrack, 12 years ago.

Or just sit here on the innernets and look at pitchers. Like usual. Man, I got the winter blues. I hates me some winter. And it isn't even that bad here, compared to Minnesota, where I used to live until I could get the flyin' hell out of that frozen shitbox. Florida has the best winters in the lower 48, IMHO. Hurricanes? Meh. I sat through three of them in 2004. No biggie. Unless you lose your roof.

A Fayetteville man is in jail after police say he resisted arrest and drunkenly attacked his boyfriend Tuesday.

For a minute I thought this was one of y'all but y'all do this stuff on Wednesday, not Tuesday.

I was in The Keys from '02 clear up until Katrina. I watched four of them go right by me. never was much more than the usual flood in Key West.
