Hey Ted. I probably won't be there this weekend. So you will have to cuddle your wife.

test results ?

Well I was finally testing the new tanks on the 990 over the last couple of days. You know with all the time back and forth and at work and all. Well I had filled up the tanks and last night the low fuel light finally came on. So withing a mile I was at a gas station and filling her up. It took just over 10 gallons to top it back off, and the odometer only read 311 miles.

So if the tank is supposed to hold 10 gallons either it is understated or when the low fuel light comes on it really means to say "sorry, too late you are out really just about out of gas". On the OEM tanks when the low fuel light came on I knew I could go atleast 20 miles before needing fuel to keep running. So with this it is still unknown.

The one thing I do know is 311 miles on just over 10 gallons of gas tells me my fuel economy stinks. Still better then the truck with higher cost fuel I guess.

Do you think riding habits might be influencing the gas mileage?

I doubt it Gus after all he is injured more than he rides. Can you calculate injuries per gallon? BTW my finger is just fine thanks for asking.

So ya think there might be an "evaporation quotient" in there with all the time Ms. Katoom is waiting for the master to ride her? Wait, that doesn't sound right...or does it?

Yo Matt! Its hilarious when Tune and I ride to CO. My beemer gets near double the mileage of his lol. Last year he got a lot better mileage after he took out the fancy tune he was using and went back to stock.

Yikes. 30mpg on a 990 might not be too far from the average according to http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/ktm/990%20adventure

That's about right. I get 35 with mine. I once hit 41 mpg on the highway, going 65 with a tail wind.

Then again, mine is a carbed 950. I thought you FI guys were getting 45-50.
