I figured I'd be on the oddest and rarest bike at the rally, considering there were only 17 examples of the USA LeMans 1000 in 1991.

I did see one other super-rare bike, though. Unfortunately, he passed me on Dickson before I could step off the curb and stop him for a chat.

Graying d00d, looked to be in his 50s riding an MZ 1000S sportsbike! Holy Crap, what a rare machine! I was so shocked that I didn't even get a pic.

I wonder if he's a local? Anyone ever seen one around Fayetteville / NWA ?

I didn't like the rear fender tho and adapted the rear led light to the stock rear fender. I also had some led turn signals that for some reason I bought two pair. You are welcome to those if you like them. This is what mine looks like.

I thought it turned out pretty well. As far as the Rekluse clutch goes, I will be glad to help you with that. Its a piece of cake. Give me a shout when you want to ride some.
Ordered the Tusk kit. Didn't do the hand guards. I figure I can mount the stalks with a bracket and $20 bucks is $20 bucks!

Send me a close up on how you mounted the controls. I'm trying to figure how to fit all that on there.

Freedom and safety parade

Wife wanted to ride in the parade, but not me. I like to park my butt on College and snap pics of the bad-azz bikers going by.

How many times did you see a version of this shirt over the last few days?

And finally, one for OJ:

Well if we meet up early we could get it knocked out in no time if we cut out the southern loop we already completed

Americas Cup update. No pictures, TV. NBCSP (sports.) Ch 58 on Cox.

First race today: USA won start by 3seconds, 6 sec lead at 1st mark and by 24 seconds at 2nd mark by Alcatraz in a do or die race.
13 second lead at mark 3. Yikes.
20 second lead at final mark, they hold it so USA wins by 20 seconds.! Another do-or-die race in 30 mins.

Second race today: USA won start by 3seconds, 3 sec lead at 1st mark and by almost a minute at 2nd mark by Alcatraz.
NZ cut lead in half, only 24 seconds behind at mark 3. Yikes. Closed lead from 900m to 110m!
USA pulled away around final mark, wins second race by 37 secs, 300m. NZ now leads 8-5*.
USA was penalized 2 races (it is 8-7) actual race count.

Another do-or-die race tomorrow (Mon).

I did 63 miles. Hit the dirt roads south of here wandering around till I came out at Weddington. Came back on Fire Tower road. Took a detour on one of the roads just past the power lines that heads down toward the river. It got a little gnarly toward the end and gave me a chance to hit some whoops and ruts. This suspension is so fine! I used to dodge rocks and ruts on the DRZ, this just went over them like they weren't there. No problem lifting the front wheel when I needed to. I'd prefer a little more low end torque, but just have to change my style some to work in mid to upper range. Was doing that before the end.

Hit 412 and headed back. He had this geared with a 13 tooth front instead of the stock 14. I hit 90 and was cruising at 70. Was smother and handled better on pavement than the DRZ. Seat is a rock. Need to look into that. Checked milage when I got back and got 45.5 mpg including the high speed tarmac runs. That was about 20%.
