A lot of folks choose 14:52 gearing on the EXCs to achieve the low torque for trails and a nice compromise to still run 65 down pavement. I run 14:52 and am quite happy with it. You can go 13 on the countershaft, as you have, but I'm told chains and chain sliders wear out faster with that tiny front sprocket.
Thanks Troy. I got a 14 with it. I may swap it out and try it. I didn't count the rear. I assume it is the 45 stock. Counter shaft seal is leaking so need to address that anyway.

Someone has to take up the slack. It takes 3 of us to occupy the same space Albie did. (Post count that is. ).

Oh man, I'm still hurting lol. What a good time though! Saw lots of old friends and met a lot of new ones. The thing that really sobered me up was waking up sunday morning to DOC in my back yard!

The ctr shaft seal is probably leaking due to the po running the chain way too tight. Proper adj will make it look too loose at rest, so many overtighten. Lots of good info on KTMTalk. And the koolaid is free over there.

Tension is right. More than likely due to aftermarket sprocket. Thickness is critical on the sprocket from what I read.

Mine came with 13:50. I like the gearing but I have noticed some black tar like substance on my shifter and below. At first I thought is was chain oil but I have been using wax chain lube so I was a bit puzzled. Turns out it is slider plastic residue. I will probably go to the 14:52 when I need new sprockets and give that a try.
