I kid. It's actually pretty nicely signed and marked. Hard to get too lost out there. I'll have to look into joining these Razorback fellers, though as Groucho Marx said, I'm not sure I want to join any club that would have me as a member.
It is marked, but we still missed a turn to get the far east loop. Not sure how we missed it. Condition of the trails was pretty rough, at least it gave my old tired body a work out.

I had a track but my little Nuvi 500 won't display tracks. When I tried to convert it to a route it rerouted me to the roads. May have to talk myself into springing for real GPS for off road.

There is a loop that takes off on the east side just before Work hill and goes east, south and back into the loop just after it leaves the old loop. That one is new to me since I rode the blue loop 5 years ago. We used to ride over there in the 80's I think it goes over to the pipeline and back. He made what I called the old blue loop. We didn't do the part you all did last time.

Any of you inmates have and extra bark buster I can replace this with? Figure I'm not the only one to bread just one. Thought I'd ask before I threw down some coin for a new set. Just need the bar and use the old hand guard.

Love me some Cycras! I run them on all my bikes. They sell some different U shaped mounts too which make it handy for cable and brake lines when you have shortened the bars.

Bleah

I reckon I'm a no show for this afternoon. I managed to get sick over the past coupla days. Not sure if it's the chemo or something else. Either way, I'm down and out.

Albie, see you out and about Brother. I guess I'll just have to make a run east to see you soon. Be safe and have a large time.

Thumb Lost bus in Devil's Den Hollow across the Mulberry

This one is for you guys that REALLY know the area...

Back in Oct 2006, a group I was riding with took off from Turner Bend and headed S on Hwy 23. A few miles S we turned E on Barnes Rd. A few miles later we jumped off N into a somewhat abandoned old network of roads/trails. We ended up running all the way N to the Mulberry River where we found an old bus in a dry creek bed in Devil's Den Hollow. We proceeded to actually cross the Mulberry River and then come out on Hwy 215 just about 1 mile W of 1504 (Low Water Bridge Rd).

A couple years ago, I tried to figure out if that Mulberry crossing was still doable and found the N shoreline had changed quite a bit and seemed to have an 8 foot or so section that was too deep right off the bank. It did not appear that anyone had been crossing there in quite some time. Back in 2006, it was not a difficult crossing. Wide and slick as snot, but not deep or difficult on either side.

Any of you fellas been down this path? Seen the bus? Crossed the Mulberry at that point?

BBQ for Albie

Just got back from a great BBQ put on by Charlie and his pals...Magoo and who else not sure but the food was awesome as was the comaradery!

Got to meet some of the ADV'rs that here to fore were only names on the screen too.

Of course this was a send off for Albie and I was glad to get to see him off. Ride safe buddy and enjoy all the new trails!!

Just so we have evidence of this I snapped a few pic's. Look Albie has six horns, it's so nice to have all these friends close by huh??

To those I missed getting pictures of my apologies! Maybe Charlie got some more pic's?

And I did confess to my wife that my "short ride" turned into a BBQ .....supper might be cold tonight

Fun time, good seeing everyone again. All the best Albie
