Many thanks Gentlemen!

I know I can trust Toyman's directions as he and I watched Albie and Charlie go in circles like horses in a circus ring in Wisconsin. I'd question you on this one Tim, but since your directions agree with Toyman, well, they've just got to be right.

Thanks again!

Hey Charlie, this post-doc is looking for someone to help him with his research. Should I give him your contact info?

Most non scary trip from FYV IMO is :
71 S to a point past Mountainberg Left or East on 348, East / Left on 215 then North to Shores Lake on 75, then on 76, then 79 to 103 which is the entrance to White Rock.

Longer but smoother, less gravel and plenty of pretty stuff to look at. If wife is having fun, then come out North like suggested up thread but reverse.

YMMV

JD, ^^This!

In short, the best way from FYV is I-540 to I-40,go east, exit 25 I think (hwy 215) go north to shores lake..only abt 6 miles of dirt to WR gate...as Gus says, for the adventure, go home via Bill and Magoos way, Bowles gap, Bidville, Mill Creek back to hwy 16

Sounds like a leisurely route worth exploring too. I've got the time these days so can do both. Thanks for the info Dragon!

You know what really pisses me off? Parking in the motorcycle spots on campus only to have some jackass park so close that you cant stand your bike up to get out.

Anyways, caging it out to Whitaker Point with the GF this morning. Gonna try out Low Gap Cafe for lunch, it better live up to the hype! Sure wish she like riding, that'd be a lot more fun.

BTW, does Low Gap take debit cards or should I grab some cash before heading out there?

The guys here may not know much, but they're pretty good evaluating the quality of food.

If today is anything like yesterday, the place will be packed for lunch so don't be surprised if there's a wait list to get in. There were a lot of retired folks in there yesterday, as well as tourists from all over. A big group of Harley riders were there from Milwaukee too. The Leaf Peepers are out in force!

I'd recommend ordering off the list of items listed on the chalkboard rather than the lunch menu. The lunch menu is pretty plain. Also, bring an appetite. The portions are big.

Don't know about debit cards, but like Doc said, cash is king.

No Low Gap for me today. Hope to hit Ozone tomorrow though.

Not too bad of day, sitting here at work watching John Wayne on AMC.
