Had lunch at the Parker Pie Company today in West Glover, VT. Sorry no pics, dead camera, but next time for sure. Essentially it's an old hippy bar in the back of a run down looking general store on a dirt road out in the middle of no where. I felt a little out of place with out a tie dye t-shirt but they were all friendly enough.

The food was great! Possibily the best the best sandwich I've ever had. There was a well used Rancilio on the back counter but I decided to leave that for the next time. The place has alot of personality to put it mildly. They had the Animals playing on the sound system. Real art on the walls from local artists that was, well far out man, if you get my drift. The bar look like it was welded up from an old plow blade. And a sign above the bar stating that they where not responsible for women left over night.

A very laid back place. Probably not everyone's cup of tea but I'm going back for sure. Pics next time.

The Corner Store. Awesome fucking cheeseburgers. Seriously off the hook.

High Tide. Good fried seafood, but I wouldn't eat it unless you have time for a nap afterward.

Woodman's Clams, Essex MA

Seriously the very best fried clams I've ever had. They have a good spot to park motorcycles out back and a nice picnic area overlooking a tidal stream.

Woodman's claims the *original* fried clam but, in my opinion, not the best. I've been there several times, and many more times to other excellent long-gone spots; Mcintyre's (Route 1 at Route 133 in Rowley) and The Busy B's (Route 97 near Bare Hill Rd. in Topsfield).

But the Clam Box, (Mile Lane at Route 1A) in Ipswich, MA is my absolute life-long fave, and I'm very fussy about good seafood. Try it.

wow

there is some seriously sketchy recommendations going on here. Since when does a reheated frozen hotdog on a white ass bun warrant such praise?

anyhow, I placed this in a thread for a dude coming from another state to maine....these are a few good places around me although they all seem a little gucci after seeing what you boys like to eat.

Not sure if it is "road food" but all these places are just off a road and require you to get off your bike and enter a building.

"
pier 77/the ramp bar (the bar below pier 77-go here) in camp porpoise just north of kennebunkport before biddeford. I love the ramp-great mussels and very cool, tight little space-very nice. You could hit this by getting of 95 going north and head inland to kennebunkport then little north to cape p. The road is nice from there to saco, and you could get back onto 95 to get to your next stop-PORTLAND!

also run of the mill brewery-new brewery in biddeford maine, sister to the liberal cup in hallowell, me. not great food but nice deck, new, good beer.

Portland
four street restaurant- bit fancy but awesome- portland, me
northstar cafe-coffee in portland, me (others hilltop cafe, coffee by design)
sapporo sushi resturant-portland, me
flatbread pizza, portland, me
becky's diner (breakfast)-portland, me

BEST BARS portland:
1. novara res, portland me, 50 beers on tap, over 250 beers from all over the world http://www.novareresbiercafe.com/
2. bullfeeneys
3. gritty's
"

+1. There's a surprising amount of good barbecue in New England these days, and Top of the Hill is among the best. Only open April-October, but that works pretty well for riding anyhow...

I'll try to nab a picture this week.
