Eek Almost more of an epic than was planned

A crew of 4 hooked uo at the Washington Diner
Steve- DRZ400
Chris- DRZ400
Terry- KTM950
Walter- TransAlp

The inspiration (as if I need one) for this ride was to string something together and hope to find Buttermilk Falls. DNFjoe had posted finding said falls last weekend and included some road names and general directions. The odd thing is that I'd ridden all the roads he menitoned many times and never ran across the falls. Even stranger, when I checked my DeLorme on line mapping program, it showed a Buttermilk Falls about 5-10 miles (and in Pa.) away from where DNFjoe said. Really curious now, I put together 2 routes- one in NJ and one to go to Pa..

I hadn't done much of this ride/roads in quite some time (probably 1.5 years). But I remember it being pretty good with a lot of dirt once we hit the parks; and tons of twisties for the whole route.

Anyway, we left the diner and meandered our way up to the general area. I was thinking of going to the Pa. location first but there was a lot of traffic going over the bridge to Pa. so I decided to try NJ first. We started at the beginning of Old Mine Road (starts at Rt. 80) and did some tooling around. I really didn't think we'd find the falls and we didn't. So I decided to head north and do the extra dirty part of the ride. As we're hustling up Old Mine Road we pass a waterfall that I must have passed a dozen times before, but never stopped at. We were due for a rest stop, so I u-turned back to it. Lo and behold...

Gotta break for a bit- this is the end of a rock garden type of road we just came down and is actually part of the Applachian Trail.

More to come
