Tyre availability-India

Perhaps I am not searching right but I could not find any info on purchasing tyres in India.

We should be rolling into India in about 6 weeks (RTW trip, started in 2007, currently in Istanbul) and will probably be in desperate need of new tyres for our 1100gs (Front 110/80 19 inch and rear 150/70 17 inch). I run on tubeless tyres. Does anybody know if these are available in India?

in Mumbai you could call up Metro tyres (Amin Merchant) and tell him exactly what you are looking for (brand/type/size). Please take a quote from him, prices are much higher than you may be expecting as there is a shortage now and importers are reluctant to buy given the insane $ exchange rate.

I have a pair of used Metezeler Tourances if you need them

Front 110/80 R19
Rear 140/70 R17

The front has a puncture but can be fixed and has over 5,000kms of tread left. Or an inner tube could be used with it even though it's tubeless. They are off my GS and I've just replaced both front and rear.

The rear is still in okay condition and has only about 3,000kms of tread.

They could be useful to a fellow traveler or someone needing to get out of trouble.

Willling to give them away and can arrange to leave them somewhere on our way from Agra to Himachal Pradesh. I could also leave them at a guesthouse in Agra for pickup.

Send me a PM ASAP otherwise I'll dump them.
