Good Grab!

Hey, no fair getting that grab with a nice new KLR! Very cool. I rode Kincheloe yesterday getting the tag from Kurlee, there's a small stretch of gravel as well leading up to Old Yates Ford.

Lend an Old Caboose?

donnymoto, You beat me to the Lake Ridge Marina btw - even though I often walk there from my house.
A little off-topic: The caboose reminded me of a recording by a Canadian that was pretty popular back in the early '70s about how the USA is always bailing out other countries but that when our railroads went broke, nobody would even lend us an old caboose.

Yea, I vaguely remember that song but can't think of the name...

Snatched!

To answer my own question...

Apparently NOT!

I don't believe it! It was Still there this AM.
Just as I got there a train was coming thru..

found the tag, yeah that's bigger than I thought it would be...

A shot with my Adventure bike. While it may not be an "adventure" bike in the same sense as many on ADV might consider, the way I see it is that riding a 32 year old bike with at least 140K (could be more, but the odo stopped working after 35K) to places like I went this Sunday where the roads aren't even on my GPS, having done a number of water-crossing with it over the years, plus all sorts of places most any other road bike would faint at even the thought of going, that qualifys as Adventure Riding!

So I think the tag is headed back toward the Runny Old Potomac Ribber.... May be the same medallion or could be something different, this one's WAY to nice to risk having it fall in into non ADV hands!
I will find a spot this afternoon and post by 5-6 or so this afternoon.
Jeff

Nice grab. Yes that's a cool bike. Ted Simon rode the world on an old Triumph and showed us it's not the bike as much as how you ride it

Next Tag

Some years ago there was a guy named Harry
He had a Lab and liked to set off Huge EMI pluses
Problem was he did it right on the edge of a densely populated area
Just on the Northern end of Woodbridge, down by the Ribber(s)<---that (s) is a clue, too.

Finally someone said

you can't do that here!
After which the place just went to the Birds (and other creatures of the marshes)!

Lots of these guys live there now.

At first I thought of putting the cache in a dead fish I found, but decided not to and that’s a good thing cause that guy above came alone and grabbed it!

OK just kidding about that…..
here’s where it really is

right inside the entrance to the right you will see this (well except for my bike, that is!)

behind the left most pole with this sign on it

is where the cache is under this dark rock, its the same one as we have been passing around, couldn't think of anything better/nicer without rummaging around a good bit at my place.

While you're there wander down to the parking area, you may see that guy above flying around, his nest is in a tree on the left of the drive in. There are some nice walking trails as well.
Payment is on the honor system, 2 bucks for car, one for bikes, see the sign board. Lots of Bald Eagles in the area as well.

Great spot! I love those trails - if only I could legally ride them without disturbing nature

Great place that is not very well known w/ an interesting history. Good job on the clues. Went there not long ago - took the one way route through the park - came to the exit and my >400# KLR and my >200# weight wasn't enough to trip the exit gate - oh well - no problem doubling back to the main gate. Yeah its been hot - I need to find a lighter hot weather jacket.

I'm going to buy a nice roost deflector and a motocross jersey for summer riding. Not the most ATGATT get-up but it sure will beat the heat!!!

Yeah, I hear that, after walking to the entrance of the Paw Paw tunnel sunday I didn't even bother with putting on my mesh jacket for the ride home, but then I'm not the most ATGATT person, guess I'm just old school! Its a personal comfort thing. To each his own, I recon.
