Why thank you very much for the kind words. You all set a high standard !!!

Geoff -- sorry about the Bruce. . .. Hope you get the next one.

XDragRacer -- funny thing about your Annandale tag -- my second daughter attends a high school near there, and I've driven by that spot more than I can count, without ever knowing it was there. Once I figured it out, I couldn't believe it -- rode up half thinking I had to be mistaken. . ..

Le grab (note evidence of earlier wee nap while owner learned to find his footing on cambered road):

Ali wanted to go somewhere historic, and given the recent focus on vineyards and wines, I suggested a house once bonded as a distillery that is guarded by these fearsome folk:

Ali is hiding under a step at the front of the house:

A hint: the park that the house is found in shares its name with one of our state's prisons.

Geoff -- great grab! (sorry about the nap)

For the map, the address was 44276 Spinks Ferry Road, Leesburg, VA.

The clues were that the tag was near the game's boundaries, and by Lucketts and Stumptown. The boxers were the brothers Spinks, who each won gold in the Montreal Olympics, and ferry was part of the road's name. The winery was Lost Creek Winery and Vineyard.

Now, to take a look at that latest tag. . ..

Grab was Nottoway Park in Vienna, north on 243 just before 123. I don't understand the significance of the house (didn't see a plaque anywhere) and I missed the totem pole. I only found this thanks to nova rider telling me where to meet him. We met alright.

Feeling victorious after our "battle" (grab) at "Chancellorsville" (Nottoway Park), we traveled forth as if we were heading towards Gettysburg, our own campaign was one of tag hunting rather than invading the North. Along the way we were interrupted by a rather pathetic attempt at an ambush by some "Yanks" (the Yankee ambush being a 600 lb GS-A that 5'5" Nova Rider had trouble turning around)

Should be fairly easy to find this tag.

Ali is hiding at the base of this sign:

Laugh

For those that don't know, Joey leads some phenomenal rides, and I had the pleasure of enjoying one such ride today. Happy tagging.

The only difficulty is following someone who could flat foot a KTM onto terrain that doesn't favor your vertical status while riding a tanker-like bike that is designed for vertically advantaged riders, while said vertically advantaged rider looks back at you and laughs . . ..

The totem pole is right at the park entrance next to the curiously blank sign:

Fairfax county has a page on its rental list for the "Hunter House" detailing its history; I figured somebody might have attended a reception or other event there .

Cool history:

Built in 1890 by Scots immigrant John C. Hunter, Hunter House began as a small frame farmhouse. Over the years, the house was enlarged, but still retains much of its original character. After Prohibition, the house and surrounding grounds were bonded as Distillery No. 4, and produced "Virginia Maid" wine.

Today, the Hunter House provides main floor accommodations, a sunlit screened porch, beautiful border gardens and spacious lawns for outside occasions. Nestled among the woods and various recreational facilities of Nottoway Park, Hunter House is a popular site for many different social, corporate events and ADV tagging.
