Well, one inmate wanted some additional clues, but then figured it out before I could respond.

Regardless, I thought my one picture would be sufficient, but when viewing it on a "smart" phone, it looked good, but in reality, it was a little tougher than I anticipated.

So some Clues:

P - Pet Shows and Pony Rides
W - Wrecking of cars in a demolition derby
C - Clown Circus (Joe's Clown Circus that is)
F - Funnel Cake, not available yet, but will be in a few short weeks

OK, now it's time to get on the two wheeled mounts and ride!

Tag: Ali wanted some shade after being next to the hot open field at the Fairgrounds. I knew just the place and it was right near the confluence of the Bull Run creek and it's Little sibling, which also goes by a different name that starts with Cat, so there would be plenty of water to keep cool. There is also the historic house of the Thornberrys a short walk away in case shelter is needed.

The home of the Thornberrys is just down the trail behind the gate. There is a No Parking sign, but it is heavily faded so I think it really means No Parking for more than 15 minutes. There is a church parking lot within sight that could also be used.

Now get a Spring in your step and get going!

Grab, Thornberry House driveway, Route 234, Sudley Springs, VA (Manassas National Battlefield Park):

Ali asked, "Can we stop and smell the flowers?"

"Yes, but let's take a stroll up to the Thornberry House, one of three original buildings still standing on the battlefield:

"Aren't you supposed to have some kind of PASS, or TICKET to enter the park?" Ali asked.

"Fear not," I told him. "While my parking may be somewhat questionable, I have a LIFETIME pass to all our national parks."

As we rode away, Ali asked, "Wasn't the Thornberry House used as a field hospital or aid station, during the War of Northern Agression?" (Ali, like most alligators, is from the SOUTH.)

"Yes, and by both sides," I replied.

"Well, the war created many casualties," Ali mused, "I'm sure other military hospitals were improvised in the area. Know of any?"

"Yes," I told him. "I'll take you to possibly the most important, historically, of them all; one that influences our lives even today!"

Ali asked, "You mean that CHURCH?"

"Yes, indeed!"

Corner of box, farthest from church:

Maybe a road clue would be useful; at the intersection of one road named for a station that could be named for a lord, and one road named for a quadraped ungulate beast of burden (Paul Bunyan's, I think, was BLUE).

CAVEAT: Meant to post; likely a DUPE, but . . . Ali wanted to repose near an historical military health-care center, and--here we are!

Grab. Details to follow.

Ok, Ali was patiently waiting for me at:
St. Mary's Catholic Church
5607 Vogue Rd
Fairfax Station

My bride and I decided to ride the Sprint to get some dinner in Clifton, I knew that Ali was not that far away, so with very little convincing, we decided to go find Ali. So we did!

Ali was right where Ali was supposed to be!

Tag!

Ali thought that the Church was pretty neat and wanted to know if there were any other neat old churches in the area. I knew of another Catholic Church several miles south of there. Purcell, you would like to go there, I asked Ali. Ali, said I just don't want it to be a token gesture, but a place with heart.

I don't know of any historical significance for this church, but it is no longer used on Sundays, as a nicer newer one was built just across the road.

Here is a picture of the church. Ali is on top of the helmet.

Another church shots:

We walked around the Church and found a neat ol' tree on the right side of the church.

Ali is at the base of this tree in the nook. Ali is under the mulch and under the bunch of dead leaves, in the second photo.

And then the sign for the church, for some reason the name didn't come out in the photo. Go figure!

This church is near some recent building phenomenons that have been occurring in this area. The recent proliferation of Walgreens by almost each and every CVS.
