Grab:

Upperville Library
John S. Mosby Highway
Upperville, VA

Colonel Mosby (CSA) indeed led his Rangers past this very library many times; may have been a patron himself, a lawyer in civilian life.

Irrelevant fact: The US Army 310th Theater Army Area Command was known as, "Mosby's Rangers," a likeness of Mosby's plumed hat on its unit crest:

The 310th TAACOM's successor unit has been deployed to the Middle East, under the same insignia.

After Ali's pickup at the historical (yet continuously functional) library, we passed by what appeared to be a water-powered mill:

Ali began singing,

"Dashing and splashing, the mill wheel goes 'round,
All the world's waiting for corn to be ground!

"Turn, cries the miller, turn fast as you will,
Gold from the market my pockets will fill!"

"Ali," I said, "that wheel may dash, and it may splash, but it ain't gonna grind any corn or anything else! Look, it's set on bearings around a shaft, just turning freely, incapable of powering anything!"

"But I BELIEVE in this mill," said Ali. "I'm gonna stay right here 'til I get some cornmeal or flour or grits or something out of this mill, or 'til someone grabs me!"

So, we went to a spot (just above the right rear-view mirror in the first image on this post) between a decorative boulder and part of the concrete mill wheel abutment, where Ali settled in, marked by the tell-tale letter "A" fashioned from mulch sticks:

As further assistance in locating Ali's resting place, if you shot a line straight from above the LEFT rear-view mirror in this image to the "mill house," it would pass directly over Ali's resting place, between the boulder and the masonry corner:

Now, WHERE is Ali?

Al Capp, the cartoonist, was anything BUT "politically correct." Yet today, I doubt he could have gotten away with his episode involving a peril of his hillbilly hero, "Li'l Abner," who somehow was about to be forced to marry . . . THE WORLD'S UGLIEST WOMAN.

The place-name (with an added silent letter, "H") is the same as Al Capp's homely creation, the latter known as: "XXXX, the Hyena."

Yes. Rhymes with, "hyena."

Cross street? XXXXh Mill Boulevard.

Location name rhymes with this animal's:

Just a note about a search (if anyone should try); no images from Google Maps; no images nor road shown on Bing Maps.

Rather recent construction, I reckon.

Anyone need more clues?

Maybe not, but . . . here's a bonus clue, anyway!

The trio of Boris Karloff, Frank Sinatra, and Salvador Dali, together, played a role in Basil Wolverton's life and career . . . (Basil won a contest the three judged; relevance: place-name.)

i see you changed it to Boulevard. This clears it up for me. I probably won't be making the grab though.

Eye-balling the sign, I thought it said, "Road." However, Google Maps labels the street, "Boulevard."

Given the high-ticket real-estate marketing involved, "Boulevard" seems more elegant than, "Road," I suppose!

The roadway in question appears only on Google Maps, not Bing Maps.

Oh, yes; approaching the proximate intersection from the northwest is a road that might have been named for the musical ensemble known as:

"x x x x x x x x x Mac!"

A hint from afar...

Would I be giving too much away if I said that there was once a tag of a new double-water tower placed by yours truly in those general environs?

I'd go grab Ali, but google maps tells me it would take me 40 hours to get there from my current location...

Grab:

Lenah Mill Boulevard, Aldie, VA (right off Route 50 eastbound)

Didn't know that was there, so XDrag, a very neat tag.

Ali wanted to try a new road. So we did, and found this tag site nearby. For another hint, variants of this 8 letter road the tag is on could take you all the way to Old Town.

Happy tagging!

Excellent!

The nearby "populated community" is named, "Lenah," precipitating the "Lena the Hyena" clue.

Lenah Mill Boulevard becomes Fleetwood [Mac] Road, north of Route 50.

Now, road with eight letters? Hmmmmmmm . . .

Since tags have been sitting a while, I'll make this one totally obvious. If you come at night, watch for Bambi.

When he saw this tag, Atlas Shrugged; maybe Howard Roark did also.

(Spurious clues? It's o.k.; I was THERE! )
