A quick search suggested that I rode into a hole. I had remembered "go left", but missed that "left" was directionally dependent. If you try the crossing from the tag side, perhaps you should try going "right."

From Philomont, stay left, definitely!

Please don't ask me how I know this, or . . . "How I Learned To Perform The 'Tee Mod' On My KLRs!"

Check carb vent hose routing; stock, on Generation 1 KLR650s, open end rests about 10" above riding surface (Generation 2s, 30" above).

If the Super Sherpa's vent opening also sits down low, then yes, a Tee Mod (tee fitting with alternate vent hose set high on the bike) would be necessary to negotiate deep water crossings.

FIELD EXPEDIENT: If no tee mod, and saddled with a low vent hose, yank the vent hose off the carburetor to ford the creek; that'll work!

Clue Ali said "I'm tired of the country. Tonight I want to spend the First Night in Old Town. Some place where I can see people celebrate. But also next to those brave soldiers sleeping eternally."
