Ha!
Risky location. That area floods regularly.
That is EXACTLY where the first Ali went missing!

The dam is for the spillway to the mill. And yah, that does flood, kinda supposted to in a sense since its a waterway after all and I think we've had a few good rains since the 23rd. Bye Bye Ali3!

I think I'll mount a rescue operation in just a few, needed a good starting place for another nice ride on da new machine. I'm a-coming for ya Ali, keep swimming upstream!

Hopefully he's still there. I should be there around 10 if anyone wants to join me then go for a nice ride in search of a new landing place for Ali.

Well, I thought I made it easy enough that it wouldn't have taken so long for someone to get out there

Snatch!

Well I found Ali swimming madly upstream and snatched him up and let him dry off a bit

Then it was off for a nice ride, down Halfway Road to 211 and then out to Sperryville for lunch. No pics as my battery was running low in the camera so needed to save it for the next tag info. Ali had Three hot dogs, a large order of fries And a large milkshake to wash it all down.
Now off to the tag spot. I know this may be a bit out of the playing field but just deal with it, its summer and you all should be out riding, Lots!

If you smashed up a Rock, and threw them in a Mill, then had Ford make a car out of them, well, quite frankly, you'd have a mess, but that really has nothing to do with where Ali now resides. Well actually it does, sort of, If you take certain words and put them together you'd have the location place name.

Where there are two bridges that both appear to cross the same River (but don't) and lie at 90 Deg to each other, one being more Whorton (and a bit more Hollow) than the other and you say, strolled down across that bridge you'd come to a tree with a fork in it. In that fork you'd find Ali..

The view of the two bridges looking east from the west side...

The tree with the fork in it, Above the flood line I should add,

the before shot

The after shot.

If you approach the location from the east there is a good chance of finding some gravel roads in the approach, if you come in from the North don't be in a Rush after you cross the river, there is gravel just ahead! If you come at it from the West it's all paved.

Just clarifying, in the ancient (and perhaps obsolete) tradition of mapping tag locations, the location was Aldie dam on (not surprisingly) Aldie Dam Road, Aldie, VA.

BTW, for excellent barbecue, visit the Aldie Country Store (Route 50), where a Hindi vegetarian chef masterfully operates an outdoor grill (seriously, not kidding; a vegetarian personally, he cooks delicious meat).

Caution; he's the master of the "up-sell." You intend ordering, say, merely a pulled-pork sandwich; you wind up with a full rack of ribs in a Styrofoam carry-out box to load in your tank bag or top case!

I had no idea that was even coming out. I thought Rocketman must have bought the cleanest SR500 in existence. I wonder if there are any plans to put that engine in a DS bike? Although it only has a 5 speed, which is my biggest gripe against the DRZ.

Speaking of mythical midsize DS bikes - I was at Coleman's in Woodbridge and they had a brand new, street legal WR450 for sale. They converted and registered it and the buyer backed out. They also had the Zero electric bikes there too.

The clue:

These white rocks are a clue to the farm, or hall that names the lane that hides Ali. You could bust your old head getting there, or perhaps grab a fosters with a fork.

Happy Tagging!
