All right, shot the my son's Ruger 10/22 that I upgraded for him for Christmas.
![]() This is a 10 shot group at 100 yards. It should get better after the new 20 inch fluted barrel gets broke in.

Excellent, what brand of barrel did you use?

I have the 20 inch Green Mtn fluted barrel on my hot rod 10-22. My buddy and I have contests with 1 inch swingers at a 100 yards. first one to clean a 10 shot run wins, then 15 shot runs. etc...
It is great training. Amazing how accurate the platform can be. |

Great choice, Green Mtn barrels are an excellent value and are very underrated in my experience.

50, yes, but 100 is a whole different game. Did you bed that barrel or do any of the fancy mounting to the receiver things? I'm gonna have to build one of my 10-22's like that.

I have seldom seen any kind of .22 that will shoot groups like that at 100. I have only done that with a Remy 40x. But I agree about the Green Mt. barrels, I have three of them for my 10/22s and they really love SK Standard Plus.

That is something....I would bet it would be indoors....there is a great deal that goes on in 100yards outside....the slightest wiff of a brease would have effects.
I shot small bore sillhoutte and the first time I did it I was amazed just how long it took a 22LR to go 100m

I just picked up a remington597, I wanted something cheap to shoot 9mms and 223s are going to get expensive. As far as ammo goes what is the best to shoot in these semis. I have a savage single shot and a 1953 ruger single six that will shoot anything, but today I shot 50rds through the new remington and had 6 fail to fires. ammo was remington golden. $6 per 100 dont mind paying a little more for better ammo.
