It essentially ends up being a regular .22 long.

I don't know if any of you guys are watching the show "Top Shot", but when the shooters were asked if they owned a .22, ALL hands went up!! I doubt there's any other caliber that could get a 100% response.
I expect to see all of the shooters on the show doing extremely well with the .22, as it's (by far), the most popular caliber in the US (world?). |

CCI, Aquila, and Winchester all still make the 22 long.

Hello folks.. A friend gave me a complete upper to his Ruger Mark II pistol, now I need a lower. Where can I get one? gunbroker is empty.
Found a Mark I frame for $105 -- worth it? Can a Mark I be drilled into Mark III?

Aquila also makes these heavy 60 grain subsonics. Real good for short range but they will keyhole out of most guns with a standard twist at more than 50 yards. I like them though for close pest control. They hit hard for a subsonic.

Well, it says Sniper so it has to be good. Now if it was "Tactical" Sniper it would be great!

i dont know if you guys know much about our highly restrictive gun laws in the UK, but getting any cartridge powered weapon is very hard these days with the exception of shotguns. its not impossible but they make it as difficult and expensive as possible to get a licence, even a .22short.
its great to see your kids with rifles and pistols, its a responsibility sadly missing from britain these days. so naturally we used to improvise. when we were kids we used to get an old .22 break barrel spring air rifle, putting a nail in the transfer port for a firing pin, taking the seal off the piston and drilling a 1/4" breech in the barrel. loading a 12ga shotgun primer behind a heavy air rifle pellet or .22 lead ball. if you push it down the bore a bit you can leave room for some of the 12ga propellant too. very dangerous and loads of fun, like all playing around with stuff that goes bang.... when i started my apprenticeship one of the test pieces i made was a 1/20th scale naval cannon copied from HMS victory, in bronze with all the ropes and pulleys etc. it was great, using non safety match heads and a 1/2" ball bearing it broke a concrete fence post. both these 'jolly japes' are probably worth 3 or 4 years in prison these days.

I has two bolt action target rifles, a lever action, a semi auto rifle, three semi auto pistols, and two revolvers, IIRC.
