There's no pistol only warning on these. CCI CB 22 Long.

The barrel is 26.5 long though. I ran a few thru my new to me Ruger Mark II. They are a bit loud for in town use.

With a barrel that long I'd venture to guess that about the mildest load you should use would be a .22 Short. Even then, I'd check it after each shot at first just to be sure they are getting out of there, although I think a Short ought to be fine.

Jaysus. That's pretty black powder old school thinking.
I think for standard .22 optimum is like 13". Never know.

Ever shot a long barrel .22? They are about as close to silent as you can get with out a special permit when used with shorts and cb caps.

If you are buying a target bull barrel sure get 12.5, for a quiet poker get the long tube.

I hear you. Have you ever read a book? I'm just saying what I said.

I just added a Henry to go with my original worn out Steven's Favorite and Rossi 22lr. I don't know to much about Henry's so I'll start doing a little research tonight. I got it used from a guy that bought it 4 years ago but had never fired it. How could someone resist the temptation. Oh well, his loss, my gain.

I don't know a lot about the Henry .22, but the appear to be using the same design that Ithaca used several yeas ago for their lever action repeater. I gave my Ithaca to my son and my dad recently bought a Henry, side by side they are identical. and both function very well.

Woodchucks in the garden

Why I sold my guns two years ago?
My sons are too busy making a living. No time to hunt.
My grandsons are only interested in video shooting.
The money was good and I kept two air rifles for plinking.
One is a Sheridan Blue Streak.

But to dispatch the three woodchucks eating lettuce, broccoli and squashes I need something else.

At www.gunbroker.com I am looking at this:

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=246993514

Rossi Single Shot 17HMR Stainless with Bull Barrel.
Used. As is.
Seller states it is very accurate but makes no claim of having test fired it.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=245870433

Marlin 925 22 LR bolt action. Test fired. 9 bids. No reserve.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=245870433

Marlin Glenfield Model 60 22LR. 18 rounds. Reserve not met.

===
The Rossi Combo 22LR w/18.5" Barrel/410 Gauge w/22" barrel is too expensive at gunbroker.com.
At Walmart I can purchase this for much less.
Local Walmart has it at $139.00
I hear that Dick's sometimes sells it for about $100.00.
But I don't know what time of year they have the sale? When?

If I buy via the Gunbroker I have to pay shipping from $20-$25 plus local FFl at $20 which adds $40 +/- to the winning bid price.

It looks like the Rossi at Walmart is the best choice taking in account that I can't spend too much money.

Would you buy the Rossi Combo?
Your thoughts on the Rossi?

What would you buy?

George
