East Hood River ride
I took a ride to Hood River Yesterday. I had a flat at the east end of Hood River right off the ramp getting to Hwy35. I pulled it in to the Thai Trailer and hiked to the nearest bike shop for some slime. BTW the Thai food is as good as any I have had in any of several Thai restaurants in PDX. The Slime worked the second time I aired it up with my handy tire compressor. Then I continued on my planned ride to look for some turkey hunting areas. For those of you with map quest I took the fantastic Old Dalles Highway to Elder road to Husky road to Fir Mountain road to East Side Road.
The Old Dalles Highway turns to worn out old oiled road in about 2 miles from east side road and then to just gravel. Very curvey and windy tot he top of the ridge where it turns into Elder Road . Elder is a fantastic gravel road that goes and goes. Well untl it runs into Husky Rd. All in all about 40 miles of very nice gravel and dirt with about 100 yards of rutted snow to get through. I never did see any turkeys but it turned out to have some very nice views |

I could see Mt Hood outlined in the clouds. If I had taken my real camera you may have been able to also.
