Spokane/Cda - Twofer April 18th & 19th

The snow is melting and it's time to ride with two meet ups and two rides all in one weekend.

Meet up and ride #1
Where: Harvest Moon Restaurant, South20 First St, Rockford, WA

When: Saturday April 18th
Time: 8:00 AM for breakfast with a departure time of about 9:00 AM
If you want to ride to Rockford with me, meet at the Shell Station at Mission and Argonne, we'll leave from their at 7:30 AM

Where we going: Live2Ride will lead us to the top of Steptoe Butte, we should be to the top of the butte at 10:30 to 11:00. From there it's anyone's guess but there is $1.00 tacos at Conkling Park (near Worley, ID) and some are headed there.
650X and Liv2rydktms (AKA: Steep and Rocky or Alan and Katy) will be here to ride with us. YIPEEEEE

Meet up and ride #2
Where: Skyway Cafe, Felts Field, 6501 E Rutter Ave., Spokane, WA
When: Sunday April 19th
Time: 9:00 am for breakfast and 10:00 for the ride.
If you don't know where it is and want to follow me meet at the Shell Station at Mission and Argonne, we'll leave from their at 8:30 AM.

Where we going: This is a ride for the little bikes, I'll be riding the Superbug so don't expect freeway speeds and we won't be on any nasty freeways. I have no idea of where we are going yet but I'll come up with something.
Buzzy will be here and we're going looking for easy dirt - - - Wahhhhoooooo

I had such a good time riding last weekend riding and I'm looking forward to more riding fun.

Who's joining us for some fun out riding with good people?

Ya danged well better be, you're leading this parade.

What about Sunday? Are you leaving me out there all by myself again?

I can't wait to ride with my "tall, smart" friend - - - This is going to be so much fun.

Rainier Rider, are you planning to show up for breakfast with the newest ADVriderette? 3 days old should be old enough to make her first ADV gathering. We'll slap an ADV sticker on the back of her diaper and welcome her to the group. Be sure to let us know if she decides to show up before the 15th.

I'm going to strap her down with a bungie cord. She'll be fine.

I'll be there Saturday for sure.

For Sunday does it have to be a little bike? All I've got is the KLR, though I'm hoping to have a little bike by then. :)

If a KLR falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does anyone really care if it makes a sound?

I may try to make one of those days if that is okay with all of you. I don't know which day yet though. A group of my friends want me to go to Juniper with them one of those two days, but I haven't been told which one it is yet.

Is there going to be dirt on both days?

The big guy above and I haven't been along so well lately so I'll just have to make a deal with the devil himself.

YO Mortimersickle!!!!! I tell you what, I'll stop sending the sunshine over your way to ruin the pasty white completion if you stop sending your rain over here. What da ya say? Is it a deal?

We're just doing super easy stuff, your KLR will be more than fine, you might even be able to keep the remainder of your plastic. Maybe we'll head out toward little falls dam, it's pretty cool to see in the spring time. There's some easy dirt roads out there.

What little bike are you working on getting?????

With all the crap you've given those of us that don't ride during the snow season you know how much crap you're going to get if you don't show up for both Sat. and Sun.

It'll be nice if you can show up for one of them and meet a few people.

I suspect Sat. will be all asphalt since Dirty Girl is a new rider and on a new bike but I don't know that for sure. Live2Ride, will there be dirt on Sat.?
Sun. we will be doing some dirt roads but nothing technical.

Tempted but can't

I am very tempted to drive up and do this ride, but we have family arriving in town tomorrow afternoon, so we are going to have to pass on this one.
It does sound like a fun ride, always wanted to ride up to Steptoe Butte.

Working on getting a WR250R....though did some re-thinking on it tonight...still looking for something smaller D/Sish (or Plated Dirt Bike) leaning towards a used Katoom now.

Either way....looking forward to some good riding that weekend. Fired up the ol' Two-fiddy yesterday, good to be back on it.

I'm riding up the Hayden Creek Access tomorrow after work to check snow conditions up there. Canfield Mtn is getting better by the day. I rode up there Sunday after our ride, and Tuesday evening, with a lot less snow on Tuesday than even Sunday. I am hoping to make the firetower up behind Hayden lake tomorrow.

If the wind is looking good (i.e. lots of it) I may bring one of my slope gliders to fly off of Steptoe.
