A Short Ride Around Glen Davis NSW Australia.
A weekend free and a new 990R in the shed. Not a hard choice. The destination was picked and bike loaded.
A late getaway, a howling headwind and drizzle was all fixed by a good steak and a night in the Cullen Bullen Pub. The Pub has been recently renovated and the rooms were immaculate with new beds, fittings, air conditioners etc and all for $35 a night. First ride for my new Zeuss helmet as well. It proved to be very comfortable and about as noisy as my shoei syncrotech (KTM screen does no helmet any favours)
The old oil shale town of Glen Davis was an excellent way of spending the day with lots of old industrial landscape and buildings to wander over.
The mine was closed in 1957 and nature is clawing it back. Many of the buildings were demolished or recycled. Holes were cut in buildings to remove boilers and other valuable items.
National parks have allowed a rare colony of Bentwing bats (i think) to live in one of the old shafts.
A great day with a few dirt roads and a bit of exploring thrown in.

I should go back again, my mum grew up in Glen Davis, her farther worked in the shale. Is the general store still there, i think i read about a hotel opening up down there.
I am going out that way for work i will see if i can get some time down there.
So you have a bigger map of the area i tried enlarging the map in your post but it is unreadable.
