Ok my first go at a ride report. This was an unplanned ride more of just get on the bike & see where I end up. Friday saw the bike in for the 24k service so the weekend was begging for a ride somewhere. As my partner Tina had 2 uni assignments to complete over the weekend riding was out for her & she needed a quiet house to study so 8am Saturday off I went, no map & no real plan just head north & see what happens.

Headed north to Kempsey via Wauchope & Pembroke then west out Armidale rd on the tar. From here I decided to head up to Taylors Arm via Millbank as I wanted to do the waterfall way to Dorrigo and had never done this road to Taylors Arm before. Was in no real hurry just see where I got to as I had no map with me.

From Taylors Arm I was going to head east to Macksville & up the Highway & remembered there was a road on the north side of the river that id never taken then found the turnoff to Bowraville, even better I thought.

From Bowraville to Bellingen found many roads closed due to the floods several weeks ago but 4kays it was worth a look n see.

Road started off freshly graded, even a new bridge

This was as far as I got, should of taken a pic of the drop off the edge of the road.

Bellinger River

From here it was up the Waterfall Way to Dorrigo with a quick lunch and coffee at Juans Cafe then back down the mountain & home by the highway.
480kms for the day.

Sunday
Quick 220Kms up the Oxley n back what a backyard I have.

Great report and lovely country for a short ride. Pity about that washout!

Thanks for doing the report.

Love it mate! I'm a Port Macquarie boy originally so have explored the area a bit. Makes me pretty homesick, especially sitting in the middle of this bloody city!

Is the pie shop still open at the north side of Kempsey? Drooling thinking about it now (I try to live up to my username)

Great pics.
I love that area pity they have closed the back way to Bellingen indefinitely we went that way over Easter and I thought that it would have been repaired by now.
Thanks for sharing
