Good call, Big John. Between the wind and the wet; it would have been dangerous to ride it home- not to mention miserable.

cool XRL - nice ride to ABQ - smart to truck it through Espanola, Taos and Questa, that area is dangerous enough without the snow and ice.

Yup, truck would be my weapon of choice in snow and ice. Nice pics. Thanks.

By the way, about 15 miles before I arrived at Show Low, I passed a BMW RT and a brand new (temp tag) 800GS (Yellow and Black). Wonder if anyone knows who those two are?

Have fun on your new to you bike. Good call on the weather and decision to truck the last portion of your trip.

Thanks for posting your RR.

Either noobs aren't allowed to be sarcastic or sarcasm doesn't come through in print form. Just busting balls guys, no offense meant.

No offense taken.

BTW, (that means "by the way") you'll wanna spell noobs properly next time. n00bs. Don't let me catch you doing that again, n00b.

Nice RR, jnoflane.

John,
I was trucking home an XL600v from Park City UT enroute to PHX the same day you were trying to leaving ABQ. The same storm system was up there, lots of snow and ice and very cold. I was very gald I made the decission to truck it home rather then going with my first impulse to ride it. I've done the " buy it and ride it home thing" before. It's a real adventure when you are dealing with 20 year old bikes and hundreds of miles back home. You have to deal with weather, traffic, and mileage as well as the uncertainity of an unfarmiliar bike. All elements of a great time.
