After a nice lunch (a good guest always arrives hungry, right?

), a few of us decided to go on a ride through Burke's Garden, off Hwy.61 near Tazewell.

The scenery was great and the weather was perfect.

We had planned to ride the dirt road out the east side of the valley, so the new bike got its first real taste of dirt.

Any bike is an adventure bike, if you ride it right...

Did I mention the great scenery?

Taking a break...

There's still a little more to come...

midnightrider had to head for the house after the break and Highbinder offered to show us young guys how to properly ride Va. 16. He should have a school, it takes effort to keep up with him.

No one-handed pics were taken during that part of the afternoon... but here's a couple shots from the rest stop.

We called it a day and went back to the farm for libations and a ton of food. For some reason I didn't take any food pictures all weekend. Too busy scarfing it down, I guess.

HBN, 6USMC6 and Muffynmonster had joined the group by the time we got back.

Mary visited with Casey...

and we had some other visitors, too.

We did some more riding Sunday, but I didn't shoot too many pictures. I did get a decent shot of Mike and Mary. I think I see a grin under someone's helmet.

Our host and hostess...

Carol and I did some exploring on the way home...

I didn't see that she was signaling me, since this was an over the shoulder shot.

Wonderful photographs. Quite a journey. Did you keep the HD & also purchase a Strom? How do you like the Strom as I came from a HD RK-Custom.

I guess this will be the last update to this thread, the Pearl is sold and I'm moving on in a different direction.

I have to admit to being a little sad seeing the bike go. Here she is with her new owner.
