Good thing it was a Honda. It looks like it would be a PITA if you actually had to work on anything in there.

The Husqvarna logo is actually rifle sights, as seen from looking over the barrel.

From their website (second logo omitted):

The Husqvarna logotype

The symbol being the Husqvarna logo refers to our gunsmithing history. To the right you see the oldest form as the hallmark of a passed musket, symbolizing the sight over the barrel. You see also the modern version indicating that Husqvarna is still keeping the future in sight.

I always get asked "How fast will it go?". And this was on my '05 KLR and now on my '12 DR 650. Neither bike looks fast to me. I don't know what people are thinking.

I hear some low-volume banter behind me. Then it gets quiet. All of a sudden, this kid snaps to parade rest and says "Excuse me, sir, do you fly fighter jets?"

Fort Gordon is the home of the US Army Signal Corps. Nothing but communications guys here, and not a runway to be found.
Privates, adorable huh? ;

Forgive me if this was already covered but a couple of times i've gotten "Wow, when did they start making motorcycles, I thought they just made chainsaws and mowers!"

I usually reply with,"shortly after they started making rifles"

You're assuming they are. Stop, and all will become perfectly clear.

I'm starting to believe this question of 'how fast' is a squid test. If we answer some number that the bike really doesn't go, then we're probably not worth talking to.

That's the best I can come up with. But then half the riders I meet down here lie about their deeds, skills or how much they actually ride anyhow.
