I don't think that "K" stood for kilograms... But either way, wait till you hear it in pounds!

I get about 6,000-12,000 pounds. Makes it hard to walk.

Your maths is doing my head in...

putting aside the fact that the "K" as used here refers to thousands of $ or ...heh, putting that aside for one wee minute.....there's 2.2lbs to 1kg....

So assuming that jacket actually weighed 10 to 12k KGs....that's be ....insert answer of choice here...

Oh, FWIW, the suits are about $20k and are, for reasons which are beyond me, illegal in Canada.

*phew* You are redeemed...FWIW...$20k is, roughly, 11,889

and 20 pence.

Give or take.

That's $1.68 to the quid. When I first visited the colonies back in '77 it was closer to $2.21 - the glory days..for me.

That was weird - I tried to edit to correct a mistake I'd made but it just offered me a blank message field each time. had to nuke and repost.

That is not so definitively true. But the resulting direction of the thread was worth it, I guess

Rode my Scrambler to a local Cocoa Beach, Florida shop to get some paint stencils made.

Was exiting the store and was putting my gear back on when a homeless man approaches me. He looks the bike over, looks me over and the follow conversation occurred:

Homeless Man: "Nice bike, it's almost as nice as mine."
Me: "Right on, what kind of bike do you have?"
Homeless Man: (Pauses and stairs at my tank emblem) "I have a Triumph but it's not like yours."
Me: "That's cool..... (I am wanting to leave now...)"
Homeless Man: "How long have you had this bike?"
Me: "Just got it in December"
Homeless Man: "Can you do me a big favor and give me a ride to the bus stop?"
Me: (pointing at my tail pack installed over the pillion seat) "No can do, got this thing--no room for passengers."
Homeless Man: "Ha, what are you worried about, getting fucked?!?!"

He slowly walks away swaying as he goes.......

I Snaggle Pussed it and Exit Stage Left--fast!

I've read this thread many times thinking that I would never contribute to it, but the day has come:

I am putting gas in my bike, helmet on, and this guy driving a beat up Toyota Tercel walks to me while I'm filling up.

Guy: Man, that thing must be fast (regarding my Fz6, he isn't entirely wrong )
Me: Yeah, it gets the job done
Guy: Yeah, I had a Kawasaki S1000, man. Crashed it a while back, still healing. But man, once I'm all healed up I'm gonna get me another one. Thing was fast, ya know?
Me: .... Ummm, that's cool man, you should do it.
Guy: Alright man. Hey, pull a wheelie outta here, man. Shit's tight

I did not wheelie out of the gas station, wouldn't have helped that the police station is about two blocks away....and that I can't wheelie... at least not on purpose .
I'll keep a look out for him on that Kawasaki S1000. Or if he can't buy another one maybe he can get a sweet vintage Harley Astro Glide

I was pretty sure that I heard him say S, but I did have my helmet on. That said, he didn't come off as someone who actually rides, more like the type of guy who has a bike, but it's always at home or in the shop for some reason
