today was a good day.
1) after almost 5 months of waiting, my SM kit finally shipped (wheels, cush drive, fender et al) 2) scored a used set of SM forks including Beringer radial caliper, rotor, master cylinder, axle and all bolts now I've got to find some tires. I like Michelin Pilots but am wondering about Avons - can't beat their warranty. I'm told you can run a 160 rear with the rim/offset. anyone have experience with Avons?

f'in 'tard!
My motard kit arrived last week. It's pretty cool. Husaberg sells a kit which includes a couple of wheels, cush drive, rotors, caliper bracket and a bunch of fasteners. It will allow you to turn an otherwise great enduro bike into a street weapon.
Add to this mix a set of WP SM forks off of a KTM 450 SM. I found these on eBay ready for a radial brake. I contacted the seller on the chance that he'd have other bits and scored a radial Beringer 4 pot caliper and master cylinder/lever assembly with Braking Systems 320mm rotor. I figured out the additional parts I'd need to make this quick change. By adding a speedo cable and a brake switch, the front end bolts on/off in 15 minutes. The rear is similar once I get another sprocket assembly. The only fussy bit was the sidestand. It needs a lower version due to the 17" wheels/tires. I simply ordered another stock version and cut my old one down, welding a 1/4" piece of aluminum stock to the bottom as a foot. Works well. I took the bike for a ride today. Went north to Lynnwood, hoping to stop by Lynnwood Motoplex. (they were closed) So I headed west on 196th towards the water and south to Edmonds. After lunch and a beer at Engel's, I went the back bicycle roads down to Seattle. I stopped by Seattle Cycle Center before heading home. No pics yet but should get some later this week. It's fun...

I ordered the replacement for my 650 this week. It should be in stock next week. I am a little concerned about the 570s fuel range. Has anyone here done the rear sub frame conversion into a gas tank?
It would be nice to hear how it is done.
