Hey Jamie, great post, but I think you left a few things off your list:
- Rebuilt final drive ??? - Disintegrated wheel bearings replaced? - Charcoal canister clogged?? - Overly-stiff-jerky suspension replaced? - Leaky valve cover gasket?? you know... all those things that are 'normal' on yer.... oh... wait a minute.... I think I got this mixed up with a gs! Quote:

Looks like I'll never know. And I'd been working toward 74,000 miles for a while. Jamie

Just like my 50,000 mile update, I haven't done anything to the bike besides change the fluids when recommended, change the tires, change the chain and sprockets, change the brake pads, and other wear items. I did have the rear shock rebuilt by Sasquatch and changed out the fork springs (though the old ones were still in spec). I checked the valves around 45,000 miles and they were in spec. Haven't looked at them since. The only issues I can report is that it uses some oil... I have to add maybe half a quart every 700 or 800 miles, and a handful of times in the last year, it hasn't started right away if it's been sitting for a few days, though if I hold the throttle open (as if it were flooded) it'll start up and run rough for a few seconds. That only happened rarely and it hasn't happened at all in a few months now. And there is some sort of electrical short where my temp gauge will show all the bars periodically. It comes and goes. It just started happening a month or so ago and I haven't really looked into it besides jiggling the wiring around when it happens. Fuel mileage is still in the low 50s. The bike still has never been inside a repair shop of any kind. Just at 60 miles per day since I bought it in 2007 with 2700 miles on it. Jamie

Did that red light on the oil pressure just come on at the 100k mark?
Just kidding- Thanks for posting. That is impressive.
