Thanks! Have spent many hours in last few days learning about quadcopters - there's a lot to learn... For sure I miss CO for the mountains and riding. But I like Luxembourg for a bunch of different reasons. The riding is also great - but no offroad. But for vacatrion I can go to the South of France and swing through Switzerland on the way home. So like everything - some pluses and minuses. I grew up in europe, so I like it here and I think it's a great experience for my wife and kids.

I hear you about the quads. I started flying quads with the little E-Flite mQX. I enjoy it but one of the FETs on the board started to fail so it's been sitting. After looking for a camera platform I decided another quad would probably be best. So, here I am! Loving it so far!

Hey Dakar - I just picked up a HT FPV quad myself!! Love it!! Just tried FPV today for the first time using fatshark goggles... Man, that's going to take some getting used to!!
I was loving how it flies LOS though.. Man it's stable and has some authoritah to it! Managed a couple loops, flips and rolls too. Having fun! Waiting on a battery shipment! I just noticed this thread. I've been an R/C aircraft nut for over 20 years (started when I was 12!) Helis, planes, and quads.. Gotta love them!!! Here's some pics of my current fleet: Concept Pro EDF ![]() Mikado Logo 400 FBL with AR7200BX (currently for sale) ![]() ![]() Ladybird micro quad with 808 HD cam ![]() My living room fleet: ![]() Hoverthings FPV quad with Naza unit & video downlink for FPV flying.. It's time to learn a Collective Pitch heli!
So far with 5 flights there has not been any damage and only a minor crash. I am using a DX7S transmitter and have some negative pitch dialed out. My previous heli is an mCX2, so the new one is crazy fast comparatively. I was debating getting a flybarless fixed pitch or the CP. I like my choice so far.

^^ You made the right decision :) Once you master the inverted hover, you will be a true man.

Just dusting off my RC gear after a 10+ year general hiatus. So far I've:
Fixed the TX issue with my Futaba Super 8 Bought a used Spektrum DX7 Bought a Blade MQX and have been terrorizing my family with it for weeks. Fired up my 3D Flash! foamie Bought a Twisted Hobby's Crack Yak Mini for evening and indoor 3D/F3P Bought an iCharger 306B Converted 2 Dell server PSUs to use as power for the 306B Bought a truck load of LiPo batteries Selling off all my nitro stuff other than my Gremlin and my Florio Flyer 60 Bought RealFlight 5.5 and am running it on Win7 on my macbook using Parallels. Helps with heli and 3D practice. Now trying to determine which quad/hexrotor to build as a FPV platform. I'm liking this one: http://flitetest.com/articles/H_Quad_Scratch_Build

F3K class limits wingspan to 1.5m (59"). ~11oz. Dead air ~0.75-1.5minutes. I'm still very new and trying to figure out an 8FG computer radio and the flight modes (cambers) for all the settings. Should get better quickly. Arm's not sore at all. Arm is really only an extension from the torso to swing the airplane from. Kind of like swinging a rope around. However, my left knee doesn't appear to appreciate DLG much. I'm hoping some strength training may fix it. After a morning of swinging the glider around I can feel it all over. |

Nice!
I built a Quick Flick 2 two seasons ago. I haven't gotten as much stick time with it as I'd like, but I have learned that thermal hunting is addictive.
