It is obvious to even the most casual observer that he was exhaling when he should have been inhaling.

The consequences of such a rookie error are clear in the pics.

I thought it was 'cos he was running the wrong oil. Everybody knows that if you run synthetic your corner entry speed can be much higher.

Simply another case of speed and enthusiasm far surpassing traction and skill level.

I am sure any of us who have ridden aggresively, whether on the track or street, have experienced similiar circumstances. Hope dude walked away relatively unscathed with a little more knowledge of what not to do.

my money is with Chuck.

What's worse for this rider is that he doesn't often ride this bike as it was his garage queen and he regularly rode a 6th gen VFR these days but had loaned it to a fellow VFRD forum member that was in the states from Vietnam to ride the area for a couple days. His garage queen is now more like a garage whore.

Thoughts:

1) thank God I didn't have one of these encounters while there two weeks ago
2) at what point did he first shit himself
3) once giving up on making the turn and uprighting the bike say pic 10 to 11, why did it take until pic 15 to see BRAKES!?!?

Nah, those photographers don't cause accidents.

This was my question. IF, he had been fully concentrated on riding and prepped for that turn, would he have still over shot the center line?
Looks like he probably couldn't have leaned that chrome beast over too much further, but with a more thoughtful entry into the corner could he have made it?

Saw vette, turned in hard, scrubbed hard parts, panicked, maybe grabbed some front brake, which stood him up and made him run wide.

Totaled that beast, and $10k+ in damages to the 'vette...
(IF it stayed on the shoulder and didn't end up down the mountain itself...)
