Is that front tire really that bald? Or is the tire tread (or lack thereof) designed that way?

Other than that: no fail.

Slower shutter speed than some other pictures blurs the cross siping and only shows the more longitudinal siping.

Most likely a tire similar to Michelin Power Pure.

I know that many mirrors on bikes are pretty non fuctional. But even so, I can adjust the RC51's mirrors to give a view of whats around me. Still I look back when changing lanes.
So why would a person ride without them?

The MX boots are actually pretty good boots for street boots. I like my Sidi Crossfires very well for the K-RS but the toes are a little boxy for the RC. As for walking in them, it is no worse than the old Raichle Montagna's I used to wear. Still those look more like some good adventure boots looking at the sole.

And they are far easier to wear outside the pants.. LOL

Pluses... Good position and looking ahead through the corner to the exit.
... some good gear
.... reasonable speed it seems.
... great overall picture and form

Negatives..
.. only partial gear
...no mirrors.

So I would say fail

Now I have a question for those in the know.
What does the header wrap really do for a midsize street bike?

NCS

Hmmm... that might not be a fail. Assuming the one on the other side is similarly aimed, he might have adjusted it such that it lights the road when at maximum lean. Not very sophisticated but could be effective on twisties after dark.

It would be silly not to have it since he put the PIAA sticker on the bike.

The same thing it does for any internal combustion engine, retains heat energy in the exhaust to help improve cylinder scavenging. It's gotta be worth at least .03 HP on that bike.

That makes sense. I was asking not because I thought it was a fail, but because I didn't know if there was a genuine good reason for it. Or maybe he just bumped it out of alignment.

Those look like street boots to me (alpinestars scouts). I like a much chunkier boot for actual dirt riding.

I do believe I tend to agree with your observation
