That has to humble you a little bit.

The hardest thing about it is remembering to get the fuck out and pump your own when you go to other states. I actually see people in PA with Jersey tags just sitting there waiting for "the guy" at the gas station. I understand I've done the same thing for about 5 minutes on the Turnpike.

How does that work? They originally got rid of gas station attendants to save money and keep prices down. Fewer employees = less overhead.

Lower gas taxes. Right now the price difference is about 15 cents / gallon comparing PA and NJ.

Still higher than down here, I'm sure. Regular is ~$2.95 in my area at the moment.

I don't want some gas station kid filling the tank between my legs on the KLR.

This is his bike Frankenstein, many passes and tires sacrificed on us 129!

I'm guessing he doesn't have any parts hanging from the tree of shame, looks like he might have borrowed a few from the tree though!

Not an issue. Bikes are unofficially exempted from the practice. I've never had anyone try to fill my bike for me. Besides, it's what they do all day - they'd probably be less likely to spill it anyway.

When I need gas, I also need to get my ass off the bike and walk around. Besides, why take the chance of spilling gas down the front of your pants?

You're riding the wrong bike.
